December 11, 200916 yr Author Looks like Lady GaGa has got it in the bag now, unless Peter Kay comes out from nowhere, single sales for a #1 seems to be about average to me as on a normal week. Lady GaGa's total sales for the week is looking more likely 80k plus not earth shattering, it won't be breaking the 100k barrier this week unless my name is Jack Russell.
December 11, 200916 yr The Sats have no physicals, and its the only the album track that is getting downloaded, hence why the position they are at. The album track is the same as the single edit isnt it? Its certainly not different enough to make anyone wait until january for it so can't see that making any difference atall.
December 11, 200916 yr Can someone please explain to me how The Sats are only #36 after being in the top 20 on iTunes for the last 2 days and top 30 all week. Yet their midweek has been #36 for the last 3 days. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Shakira is also out on download only and she's been one place behind The Sats in every midweek this week but The Sats have been FAR ahead of her on iTunes the whole week! Yes, I can explain, and I don't need to be a genious. ;) - Ego was Sunday/Monday/Tuesday behind Shakira on iTunes. The sats were in the top 20 only in the last two days, and they have only 1 version in the chart. - Some other artists/songs have multiple versions in the iTunes top 200/300, combined they are higher than the Sats. - Ego has no physicals yet - There are more digital stores, not just the iTunes chart, and it looks like they aren't doing that well on other download sites. The official chart is a combined chart of physicals and downloads of several digital internet stores, not just iTunes, although iTunes have the biggest share, physicals (and sometimes smaller digital stores too) still can make the difference (just look at Peter Kay's single).
December 11, 200916 yr Author The album track is the same as the single edit isnt it? I wouldn't have a clue, don't own a Sats album, I don't own a Sats single and I'm not a Sats fan, so I'm utter clueless. Directing a post like that to a non-Sats fan you end up with a clueless comeback :(

This answered the Sats situation fully, thanks Ben  I couldn't put it any better myself.
December 11, 200916 yr btw I can see the Saturdays climb some places until Sunday. Today's midweeks are from Sunday - Thursday.
December 11, 200916 yr the saturdays itunes position is misleading, as others have said, as there isn't any other version to dilute its itunes position.
December 11, 200916 yr Thanx for the explanations. I just don't get how closely most of the other songs on the iTunes top 40 correlate with the midweeks and yet The Sats are far from correlating at all. You'd think they'd at least climb a place after being top 20 last two days on iTunes. They're 18 on iTunes but only 36 on midweeks its so weird I guess all the artists between positions 18 and 36 must all have multiple versions charting and are all out on physical and are all landslides ahead of The Sats on the other minor download stores. It's just a little bit too bizzare for their midweek position to be THAT far off from where they've been on iTunes the last few days. @ Santa Mikey: You are missing out on a lot by not being a Sats fan :( hopefuly you convert eventually

I think sales are very close in the 21-40 region of the official chart, as it is on iTunes too, so Ego could well finish on Sunday in the top 30. I don't think though they will reach the top 20 yet. BTW I've never thought Lady Gaga could have some good sales in fact that she can be number 1 :D And her album is doing really really well this week, heading for 100k :o
December 11, 200916 yr It's a pretty big drop though for PK. I was one of those thinking he would easily hit 80k based on his previous weeks sales. Oh well. Edited December 11, 200916 yr by Sharpshooter
December 11, 200916 yr Do you have the exact position for Drake? :) Gaga has it in the bag now I think.. :D Edited December 11, 200916 yr by SugaRush
December 11, 200916 yr Thanks for those top3's mikey! Gaga still pulling ahead in singles though her rate is decreasing. She's rocketing in albums though as is SuBo, its scary! And we still have a 2 weeks to go!

Having a spurt in two days isn't enough to overtake so many songs that were out-selling it earlier in the week. Ego has actually overtaken all these songs over the course of the mids: Taio Cruz, Shakira, Whitney Houston, Sugababes. The likes of Sugababes / N-Dubz around Ego's position in the mids were higher at the beginning of the week and have physicals. It's catching up, but not dramatically enough to have big leaps.
December 11, 200916 yr 30+9 :puke2: Ok thanks. ^_^ I'm glad this finally made it, I hope this climbs in the coming weeks.. :D
December 11, 200916 yr Does anyone have chart positions for the following: Artists Unite To Remember (We Will Remember Them) Edited December 11, 200916 yr by honesteyes

Perhaps The Saturdays sold less downloads on places like Play.com and amazon.co.uk.
December 11, 200916 yr GaGa :dancing: Looks like #2 album is guaranteed too! It's not. #3 is quite close to her, and looking at the sales for the previous days I assume JLS are close too. She could end up at #3 or #4 (But #2 is more likely)
