December 18, 200915 yr Oh damn so Joe is gonna be number 1 afterall. :(well... it's not over yet but unfortunately it looks like Joe is going to get there in the end. Unless there is a last minute downloading frenzy for RATM and even then it may not work, especially as the Facebook campaign organisers have been sent a polite message from the OCC to advise people to keep downloads to sensible amounts and not to bulk purchase.
December 18, 200915 yr all that i can say is... i pity the children who will wake up on christmas day to find joe's CD in their stocking... IMO the worst stocking filler of all time...
December 18, 200915 yr i wish the Rage campaign never existed, all it does it make it seem like more of an achievement for x factor to get the christmas no.1, when in reality, encouraging a load of kids to buy a cheap cover version of a 17-year-old girl's 8-month old song is hardly something to be proud of.

Either way, the charts are totally manipulated by factors of Cowell...and even the rather ridiculous manipulation of Facebook. Can`t people buy something for quality, rather than hype and not get drawn in by following the crowd? I mean how many people actually thought about quality in either case? It just to goes to show that the average person in the record buying public has the head full of mush. If you take both songs away...you end up with Lady Gaga/Robbie/3OH!3. Robbie`s single has surged because of his appearance on that bloody programme anyway. So, we can take him out. Downloads of the week show 3OH!3 have outsold GaGa. So, 3OH!3 would be top download without the hype (for the younger bunch). George Michael top Physical without the hype. What do we deduce from that, and what sex/age are the most people that went out and bought Joe? Are they middle aged women, who bought the bloody thing for their kids?
December 18, 200915 yr Author well... it's not over yet but unfortunately it looks like Joe is going to get there in the end. Bulk purchasing, Robbie...Now that leads to dsq!
December 18, 200915 yr Bulk purchasing, Robbie...Now that leads to dsq!or just DSQ of the sales purchased by one person which is what the OCC were hinting at...
December 18, 200915 yr Man, i didnt know so many guests read this? Do we think a link to this has been posted somewhere big?

December 18, 200915 yr No comments forthcoming from me, except the manipulation continues. 19,000 ahead for Joe at this point. Where the hell do you come up with these figures?? You can't possibly know that.
December 19, 200915 yr Author Isn`t it just amazing how hype works...It only takes one person! Thank you Chris/Mike, on a thread that at it`s most, gets around 900 hits...this week get`s 5,000+. And it`s all unofficial. No, wonder David Jensen pulled Radio One`s listeners in 1984!

Plus if the campaign didn't existed Joe wouldn't of sold as many singles, because the campaign has made alot of us Joe fans buy alot more than 1 copy. And AcerBen, Dave is never usually wrong on this thread.

And it`s all unofficial. No, wonder David Jensen pulled Radio One`s listeners in 1984! Personally, Im of the opinion that this thread partially helped Rage to obtain the number one spot this year, with many referring back to it as a spur-on for further downloads of the single. Cheers Dave! :D RRRRRRRRRRRRRRAGE!!
