Florence #1 on iTunes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dancing:

I'm quite pleased that Flo has done well with this, but I do resent the fact that there has been very little press about it mentioning that a) it's a cover and B) that it sounds very similar to the original. If most other female artists, with similar standard voices, had released this, they would have been slated for being a cheap tribute act. I dislike the auto credibility she has.

To be fair, its about time Flo got some mainstream success, her album is absolutely fantastic. 'Drumming Song' deserved so much better than it got IMO one of her best songs.

It's funny how I read this a few days ago, and had pretty much the same reaction. Now she actually has the first new iTunes #1 of the decade, at least. :lol:

Wow at florence a.t.m.! They shouldn't be no1 right now... But they should have gone earlier so they finally get a deserved no1. (they stll have no chance to achieve no1 on either chart though, Gaga will have the double)

I can't believe the new facebook campaign is actually working....I think I actually joined. I'd like "You've Got The Love" to get #1 even though I love GaGa, but maybe Flo can have the singles & GaGa the albums

 

EDIT: Oops, it isn't fully the facebook campaign. I watched G&S and heard it, and thought "Ohh, maybe it could get #1 as that is big promo", but then forgot...
