February 6, 201015 yr amazing finish for With Every Heartbeat  and Bad Romance is already one of my favourite #1's of all time so I'm glad to see it this high even though it's so recent
February 6, 201015 yr Although I loved 'Bad Romance', I'm glad that it wasn't #1 as it is a bit too recent tbh. :) Also, great for Robyn and Coldplay  Don't know how 'Run' was top 10 though  Edited February 6, 201015 yr by Overrated Dreams
February 6, 201015 yr I was actually starting to worry Gaga had the top 2 for a minute! the song is still too high, very overrated on this forum It would be amazing if coldplay won, but I know it wont be
February 6, 201015 yr Author 04 Coldplay 'Viva La Vida' - 904 points (36 voters, 2nd in Heat 4) dvgZkm1xWPE UK Chart Run: {1}-2-7-11-14-16-18-14-10-11-13-13-17-25-27-32-29-39-41-46-53-51-41-42-55-68-68-44-33-44-55-55-53-58-45-27-29-41-49-59-70-75R(2)-74->43 Yes, you are reading this correctly. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have to double check but it did earn every one of its 904 points. I think this finishing 4th is probably the shock of the countdown, on a female pop orientated site for an act like Coldplay to be the only song by a male to break the top 10, and not just break it but finish comfortably inside it, is one hell of an acheivement. They'd been one of the biggest bands on the planet (if not the biggest) for a long while but had never had a number one single, then last year this received a lot of promotion and took advantage of an incredibly low sales week to reach number one on just album downloads.
February 6, 201015 yr the whole "BJ doesnt like indie/alternative" is so overblown by some people. I mean that genre forum is very much alive and has many fans around BJ. A dance song or a hip hop song finishing high up in these kind of countdowns would surprise me a lot more. Not shocked about Coldplay or KOL doing well
February 6, 201015 yr I think: 1. Kylie 2. Gaga 3. Britney 4. Coldplay Edit: one down! Edited February 6, 201015 yr by chart wizard
February 6, 201015 yr Agreed with above post, (Dre's). Great for Coldplay to finish this high  Edited February 6, 201015 yr by Overrated Dreams
February 6, 201015 yr My feelings on Bad Romance are relatively well known I suppose. Good song of course, but extremyl overated. But im learning to deal with this  With Every Heartbeat however deserves all its hype  I feel I should ignore Coldplay or I will end up ranting about how much I cant stand them or their horrificly offensively bland music, with the most unlikeable man in music as their lead singer aswell. Viva La Vida admittetly isnt all that bad, its at least listenable but 4th best #1 of the decade it most certainly is not. IMO of course :P The not ranting about Coldplay didnt happen :(

Not shocked about Coldplay or KOL doing well It's not that it doesn't like it, but female pop dominates and always has. I thought 'Sex on Fire', 'Dancefloor' and 'Viva La Vida' would all finish in the top 20, but number four ahead of 'Bleeding Love', 'About You Now', 'Bad Romance' and 'Umbrella'?!! 'Viva La Vida' wasn't even in the top 30 BuzzJack Multichart of 2008!!
February 6, 201015 yr I just love Coldplay- even though that song isnt one of my favourites from them, They have done some truly beautiful songs Im glad viva la vida was so popular- The amount of stick that I read about them for being 'depressing' and 'annoying' was unbelievable! by the way, I love indie and alternative music Edited February 6, 201015 yr by chart wizard

There is little point in creating aliases, as I will ban them too!
February 6, 201015 yr Peter Dido Fan, you are banned. There is little point in creating aliases, as I will ban them too! I knew it! Why is it that every enthusiastic new member is Peter Dido Fan lately? :( Anyway, kinda surprised at the top 3. I know they're predictable Buzzjack faves, but I thought it'd be Kylie and Britney that suffered and not the likes of Leona and the Sugababes in the top 10! :o

Now that's surely quite surprising?!
February 6, 201015 yr As long as the vastly overrated 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' doesn't win, I'll be pleased. Both 'Poker Face' and 'Toxic' are amazing pop songs.
February 6, 201015 yr So the top 3 consists of 2 artists (imo obviously) who I love, but think have better (quite a bit better actually - and some of those have finished lower) in their back catalogue (but no denying the two left in this countdown are without doubt "pop classics") and one which is quite possibly one of the most overrated songs/number 1's ever? (No prizes for guessing whats what btw :heehee:) Ah well. Thanks so much for doing this Mark. It's been really, really interesting (and some parts shocking) reading all of this countdown. I quite enjoyed ranking them too! :D
February 6, 201015 yr I actually quite like Viva La Vida, not sure about #4 though. Having said that, Toxic & Can't Get You Out Of My Head are great tracks, but not their best in my opinion, let alone Top 3. Poker Face for the win!
February 6, 201015 yr I can't believe that actually happened. :o     The top 3 are a little underwhelming after Coldplay making #4, but they're all good songs. TOXIC TO WIN.
