So, this very naice JUST A BIT 80s Norwegian group are getting launched by Warner over hurrr and shall be over in March for various promo bits. The single, Ambitions (the one that spent about a century at number one in Norway) has had a new video shot for it which is a bit of a shame seeing as the old video was quite good, but the new one fits in with their 80s revivalism ting just a bit more so yeah.

 

 

Album will drop a week later. I'm calling this one as a slow burner - top five for Ambitions, with Sometimes selling the album to Tesco mums after getting raped by Radio 2 et al. Then again, I thought Erik Hassle would end up big so what do I know?

this deserves to be huge but like you say, after the flop of Erik Hassle, I'm not really sure that it will do anything at all in the throwaway US urban saturated British charts :(

I so hope you're wrong, but the UK charts have turned into the US lately, I mean Lil Wayne's having hits FFS :P

I'm impressed. It's not like instant but I think given time it'll really sink in [hence your 'slow burner' comment].
I love this song. Hope it gets Radio 1 support, and then top 10 would be good. Think it may be a mistake to release the album straight after the first single, but if they release more singles, maybe it will sell well over time.
for the record, it took maybe 4 or 5 months to finally click with me, and then one day it did - and in a huge way :lol:

I kind of like this, pretty much a "slow burner" like you said. :P

 

Can't see this doing well though, it's not like this "type" of music is what's hitting lately, though it's not certain.

I really hope this becomes big, its really catchy, especially once it clicks with you. Maybe it will do well as it is different? Who knows but ill be disappointed if it doesnt go top 10 though.
It deserved Umbrella-style chart positions around the whole the world in the very first day it became a number one in Norway :(

So, weirdly enough, they were like Norway's version to Black Eyed Peas (in America)!? :o What were the chart runs/when were they number 1 :o

 

I dunno why it took people so long to catch onto this :( I loved it as soon as I heard it in BJSC. It is a HUGE grower though and am pleased it will recieve a UK release at somepoint :o I can easily see Radio 1 catching onto this and maybe even a Radio 2 playlist too!

 

Cannot wait to hear their album! (If it's out already please link me somebody :o)

I dunno why it took people so long to catch onto this :( I loved it as soon as I heard it in BJSC. It is a HUGE grower though and am pleased it will recieve a UK release at somepoint :o I can easily see Radio 1 catching onto this and maybe even a Radio 2 playlist too!

I think Radio 2 will be all over it. Not too sure about Radio 1 yet. But it could happen.

I'm pretty sure Ambitions is one of the biggest tracks of all time there now! see how long it finally took to reach #1 though! because it's a grower clearly :kink: 19 weeks at #1 between the two songs!

up to #1 in Sweden this week! took them a while to catch on seeing as it's on a Swedish compilation album that I bought about 6 weeks ago :lol:

I do like the album, but it's hard remembering which songs I actually really like because, as you said, it does all blend in :lol:

:doh: oh dear, you'd think I could work out 13+8!

I'm pretty sure Ambitions was in the Irish iTunes top 200 a few months back. It would be great if they could re-enter and get a #1 here. ^_^
