... and no Goldfrapp (Alison Goldfrapp twittered that it was up for selection for inclusion in this week's playlist); no Gabriella Cilmi and no Amy MacDonald.

Now Alison is well in her 40s, she doesn't fit into Radio 1's blinkered view of "hip". Silly sods. But still give airtime to that prick Bono. Agreed, "Rocket" is the best thing I've heard for a fair while and I'm not shocked Radio 1 have snubbed Goldfrapp now. I'm sure Radio 2 will welcome them with open arms.

It is a totally $h!te list and why is Lemar being treated so shoddily.I think there is an element of spite regarding Leona, Pixie is already A-list and Everybody Hurts still C as well. Why is Bedrock still C-list it is doing well on itunes and is everywhere on the music channels.I will eat my hat if Tinie Tempah A-list goes Top 20.

Enjoy your hat then. It's going to be no.1.

I'm slightly worried for 'I Like'...

It's already been a massive #1 German smash so it's not like Keri will be saddened if it underperforms in the UK anyway.

Couldnt disagree more with you. The two things I dislike about Radio 1 are the playlist and The Chart Show. Heck, even Fearnne Cotton isnt all that bad now she's been seperated from Reggie.

I can't staqnd Reggie. He's not a good radio presenter. His music knowledge is pretty dire.

Yes, but that was due to a German film where I Like was the soundtrack.

i think you will find that bbc radio do generally play most of the new and current hits being released each week, its only a small few who get on all the playlists - radio 1 caters for new music for an age group of between 15-35, radio 2 for 35+ and 6 music plays a selection of more left wing bands but they do play most new songs released!!
Radio 1 will never play Lemar again. Once they stop playing an artist's music, they never play any new music (e.g., Manic Street Preachers). I can't even recall them playing It's Not That Easy. I remember Radio 2 played it loads and they even played the rather poor Tik Tok. And I often hear his ultimate classic of the 2000s If There's Any Justice fairly often on Radio 2. So I don't know why Radio 2 isn't playing Lemar's new song.

That is last week's.

This is the new one:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/music/playlist/next-week/

I've just listened to Tinie Tempah track and it's quite good! :o I think it's top10 at least.

What the actual f*** are radio 1 playing at?

On A Mission>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wear My Kiss

Why in gods name is WMK A listed [not that i'm complaining as a Babes fan] when On A Mission is being snubbed? If the f***tards think she's just a 1 hit wonder it's their fault.

1] Had they actually played the follow ups they would have done better

2] Had they stopped playing Sweet About Me it wouldn't have overshaddowed everything else.

3] If they playlist OAM it could become a hit, removing her 1HW status.

I hope On A Mission is a hit to spite the c**ts.

Cilmi Loon over and out.

Yeah, they did the same to Will Young too, and no doubt will not play his stuff again, unless he perhaps duets with one of their favs  The exception is Shakira though, they stopped playing her music, then she got a number one without them. They are now playlisting her I believe. Looks like Leona is rapidly losing their support and is next for the chop. It makes me fume actually, just because artists have been around a few years, they suddenly become uncool, (unless your name is Robbie or Kylie!).

Whilst I can see your point, a lot of these people are from reality shows and competition shows, and there are only so many slots in the playlist so it has to be 'out with the old' and 'in with the new' so enough slots are still occupied by others who haven't been on X Factor, Pop Idol etc etc. Leona is fairly old news now and has done very very well to get to this point I think but all fame from these shows is relatively short-lived. People who go on these shows have a good chance of success - I mean, look how many people have been playlisted from X Factor recently - Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, JLS, Joe McElderry. It is not possible to playlist them all without sacrificing others. V V Brown is just as good as these people (if not better) and has got no airplay by them. Thankfully her label seem to be forgiving, as MPHO was in a similar situation, except she's now been dropped.
