Cheryl is looking at a top 3 hit with Parachute. Amazing since the album has sold bucketloads.

I have to say I'm shocked how well she is doing, I thought after The X Factor and everything had finished she wouldn't do as well, but Parachtue is well on it's way to outselling 3 words despite the album still doing very well.

 

Why can't girls aloud sell this well :huh:

'Parachute' is the 5th new Top-10 entry in iTunes this week! :o I think it's quite an achievement in a while! I can't remember so many new top10 entries in the past in my memory.

 

And next week there are also quite a few new entries, and we'll have another clear-out.

Well I don't think she's doing amazingly well, just good. Very similar to Alexandra Burke. Parachute may not sell more than 3 Words, if it's anything like JLS "One Shot" it may peak too soon.

 

Of course it helps that she's in the paper every day due to her marriage breakdown, plus she performed at The Brits and publicity sells.

Well she's doing far better than GA's OOC era which is what I've been comparing her too. TLK and Untouchable only managed to scrape over 100k sales with the Promise doing 400k.

 

FFTL has done over 800k now, 3 words 270k and Parachute well on it's way to probably doing 200k+ too as I see it sticking around for a while.

 

Obviously the papers help out, but she hasn't even performed or done any promotion for Parachute outside the video. It's not even on the Top 50 airplay chart for last week and yet top 10 on iTunes and climbing. She only performed FFTL at the brits.

 

I think it's interesting how she's sustained her momentum without The X Factor though - people said she would flop once the show ended. Even without the split, Parachute was still Top 15 on iTunes

Well she alone attracts a more common punter - ie Sun readers, therefore it's totally understandable that she is doing better than GA.

 

If only her music was as good as GA ;-(
