January 3, 201114 yr Unsure of all my previous #2's, but I can remember two in particular. My longest running #2 that never made #1 is Kid Rock - All Summer Long. It spent 5 weeks at #2, four behind Dizzee Rascal - Dance Wiv Me and one behind The Ting Tings - Shut Up And Let Me Go. This was its chart run 16-6-3-2-2-2-2-2-4-9-17-26-31-38-43-50-59-74-88->19 wks I'm quite glad in hindsight really, as though I did love it at the time, its not stood the test of time as well as the other two (Ting Tings especially). It dropped out quickly mainly because it was a song that had no place as summer wore off. It finished as my #8 of 2008. My best performing song that never made #1 is Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars (yeah, I know). It spent a then record 11 weeks in the top ten, a then record 21 weeks in the top 40, and was around for longer in the top 100 than any other track on my chart history, bar one. It was my #3 of 2006. 4-2-4-6-3-2-4-5-10-9-10-11-16-23-25-26-27-31-33-39-39-43-41-41-47-53-55-59-58-66-69-75-77-83-86-93-89-90-97-95-99->41 wks It's definitely stood the test of time aswell. The only tracks that kept it off #1 were Muse - Supermassive Black Hole (8 weeks at #1; #1 of 2006) and Kasabian - Empire (3 weeks at #1; #7 of 2006). The only song to ever chart longer than this is The Automatic - Monster (#4 of 2006), which lasted 42 weeks, a record unlikely to ever be broken due to the slightly sped up nature of my chart nowadays.
