Nah, on RihannaDaily they have certain dates for download day, it so happens to be the next Rude Boy download day is today :dance: and is helping it rise up again :D

Album has now sold over 700,000 copies (approx 706k last week)

 

Plus, despite the lower peak Parachute is well on course to outsell 3 words - and she still has more promo lined up. Hopefully she'll go back onto Jonathan Ross too.

 

It would be amazing if her fourth single was to go top 10 too.

Robbie has been very lucky with his singles since his comeback so far.

 

He had tons of hype and promotion in the papers, online etc about his "long awaited" return, then he had a performance of 'Bodies' on X Factor which catapulted him straight to #2 in the charts. Unfortunately Bodies didn't have a great chart run after that, except rising a few places after the XF final. I doubt Bodies would have sold so much without XF.

 

'You Know Me' had stalled at #16/#17 in the charts and was dropping down the charts until again, XF saved him and the song went straight to #6.

 

And now 'Morning Sun' was flopping just inside the top 75 before he performed on Sports Relief and now it's in the top 30 already. If it wasn't a Sports Relief single he wouldn't even be top 40, imo.

 

He's had XF twice, plus a huge charity TV event to promote his stuff. Without them his singles wouldn't nearly have sold as much.

I'm saying Robbie is lucky he's getting the best promotion possible. I know it's promotion. <_< I'm just saying that video channels, radio airplay, regular promo (Jonathon Ross) etc aren't doing much for Robbie and that he's been extremely lucky he's gotten to perform on the biggest reality TV show in the UK twice and the annual massive charity event.

After seeing Cheryls rise I thought I would look at where her songs have charted so far.

 

Album number 1, selling over 600,000 copies and then the singles charting 1,4 and 8.

 

Now thats amazing by anyones standards

 

This makes me happy on so many levels, mainly because i know how many people it annoys the hell out of lol

 

Really pleased rihanna is back up to 4 and cheryl has climbed to 6 :party:

With her other version of it at #69, I think she's #5 combined? I know Inna has another version at #94.. but I think Cheryl is ahead by a marginal amount..

She'd have probably gone to atleast 4 or 5 this week if she'd have gone on johnathan ross like planned last Friday.

As a matter of fact he is not! He did a lot of promotion for Bodies, and at the end of this promotion he also included You know me. But he is not touring and he almost stopped all promotion after christmas. And its been months since then.

 

Anyway the media love him and they would give anything to have them on their shows, so he is promoting and they are getting a great star guest to reinforce their shows. All gain from this situation (money fame etc)

 

But how is he considered lucky anyway? Bodies was heads up with the xf winners first single therefore ended up at no2 and his album streak was broken because of a bunch of girls buying 5 jls coppies...In addition Morning sun is not doing as good as expected.

 

He is definitelly not lucky, I would say LAZY is the right word because even the biggest album seller needs promotion to keep sales strong, and both Rob and EMI show signs of "lazyness". Whenever he performs albums and songs shoot up.

 

Thats an amazing thing Peas and Gaga do: they WORK! so many markets, concerts, shows... their success is not random
