As a Take That fan ... I'd like to take this opportunity to bash Gary Barlow! The next album had better be more 'Beautiful World' than 'The Circus' or I'm finished with them altogether. You should have seen what I've written on his picture on the October page of my Take That calendar!

:o I loved The Circus! I was pleased they went in a slightly different, more experimental direction. It still had echoes of Beautiful World with songs like Said It All and Greatest Day, but I found some of the album tracks more interesting actually. I would rank both amongst my favourite albums of the noughties.

I must admit - some of the songs which I detested on the album - I ended up loving when I saw them at Old Trafford - but as far as plain listening to the album itself - I still dislike more songs than I like - The Garden, Hello, What Is Love (which actually worked brilliantly when accompanied by the theatrics of the live performance), You and Julie are so obviously just filler - and some of them not very good filler. The odd thing is the songs I like on TC - I really do like ... and why the excellent She Said was left as a hidden track I do not know .... it's the best song on the album and I'd love to have heard that live.

Beautiful World however ... I now love every song on it - even though it took me ages to come round to Mancunian Way.

I do think though that TT are very much a 'visual' thing ... and you have to see the live concerts to fully appreciate them.

Diana Vickers has a unique voice. But not everything unique is good. Her voice is a uniquely awful one. She sounds like a strangled goat and I will never forgive her for slaying White Flag on X-Factor. Then again, its hard to sing well when Cheryl Cole is your mentor.
Ellie Goulding. Really grates me how she pronounces "horses" as "horsis" in her new track. And "Guns And Horses" has an equally irritating and repetitive ending as "Starry-Eyed".

 That makes...no sense, at all.

Which part?

All Night long is WAY to overrated on this forum, especially in the itunes thread

Its as if its Gods Chosen song, when really its very generic and unoriginal- and people really like it because its her, I wonder if JLS sang it, people would still be looning about it :P

I love The Garden, but I see what you mean about the other songs.

Mancunian Way was one of my instant favourites on Beautiful World  along with Shine and Wooden Boat.

The part that I quoted...

If you're going to criticise you should really elaborate. It makes sense to me, I'm having a go at Cheryl Cole and her vocal abilities in the Artist Bashing thread.

*sigh* It doesn't matter.

:puke2: that "candy" song is so generic cant believe how high it is with that second rate skank ex-pcd backing dancing member miming over it

hee hee. like this subtle double-bash. Or is it a triple bash with X-Factor also a target ? (Except I quite like X Factor :( !!)

also agree with last couple of posts about The over-hyped (mainly on iTunes and chart threads) Burke

I'm glad someone got what I wrote. And no, its not really an X-Factor bash as I like to watch the show too, just one about inept judges and contestants.

has american idol finished?!

if christina gets top 10 it should see a boost once on front page..then possibly get more radio/tv support.
