Which 5 songs have fallen out of the top 40 so far? (might only really be 4 though due to TAALS being listed twice)

Jay Sean, Sugababes, Leona Lewis, and Daisy

On the mid chart they are playing the SFG B-side

That is the above link so you don't have to ask for requests in the singles chart. :D

Only 2% sales difference between the top 2 singles. (Source: Radio 1)

Tracks played:

SFG's B-side

Timbaland feat. J. Timberlake

Delrious?

Plan B

Scouting For Girls #1

Jay Sean, Sugababes, Leona Lewis, and Daisy

What's the 5th? That's only 4, and there are 5 new/re-entries (SFG x2, Plan B, Delirious? and Ke$ha)

The sales difference between the top 2 is just 2% according to the chart update - Plan B could still get there! :o

:w00t: GO PLAN B!!!

On the mid chart they are playing the SFG B-side

Oh dear :/ I cringe at the fact that nobody either at the OCC or Radio 1 has noticed this error. You'd think SOMEBODY would realise that Scouting For Girls are hardly the type of act that could get an unheard b-side into the top 30? Even JLS b-sides have never done this well, ok Umbrella did pre-disqualification but that was a cover of a well known song - I mean the 'new material' b-sides.

If SFG were 9K ahead of Plan B yesterday, and now there's only a 2% difference between them does that mean Plan B is closing in on them rather quickly?

Percentages is not my strongest point in Maths :snif:

5 out..how many in 3?

In

2 tracks from Scouting For Girls, Delirious?, Plan B, and a re-entry for Ke$ha with Tik Tok

Plan B is definitely closing in, unless they are both selling over/near 450,000 which seems highly unlikely.

Weird - Dog Days Are Over was included in the Chart Update!

The 5 songs that fell out were NOE, YGTL, IGY, WMK and DYR, and since then GKS has been removed from the chart update page and YGTL is back at #40. I assume you meant YGTL when you said DDAO?

Actually DDAO at #35 and YGTL at #40, I can't pin the other track, unless I'm missing something. If we take out the SFG B-side, leaves 4 tracks falling out.

MW chart have Ke$ha #40 The Radio 1 mid chart have Ke$ha #39

Aha.... Radio 1 have removed the SFG B-side single :D so each track has gone up 1 place from #30 which makes Ke$ha #39, Florence is back in with YGTL,

So in theory Sugababes, Leona, Daisy and Jay Sean are the 4 tracks that have dropped out of last week's top 40.

PHEW!!!!

Only 2% sales difference between the top 2 singles. (Source: Radio 1)

That just HAS to be wrong?!

That would mean, assuming Gaga's sales are staying roughly constant week on week:-

  • GaGa on approx 19k for Tuesday mids, 27k for Wednesday mids;
  • Plan B 100 copies ahead of GaGa yesterday, putting them on 19.1k yesterday;
  • SFG 9k ahead of Plan B yesterday, putting them on 28.1k yesterday.
So SFG had an approx 50% lead yesterday (28.1k/19.1k), based on the sales data published by MW yesterday.

For it to be a 2% gap now, that would mean Plan B are either:-

  1. 800 copies behind [based on SFG's sales following the same distribution as GaGa's last week - i.e. SFG 39.9k, which would put Plan B on 39.1k @ 2% behind]
  2. 500 copies behind [based on Plan B's sales following the same distribution as GaGa's last week - i.e. Plan B 27.1k, which would put SFG on 27.6k]
Both the above are next to impossible though:-

i. involves SFG selling 11.8k on Tuesday, and Plan B selling 20k [almost double SFG's sales], which I cannot see happening with SFG having been ahead (substantially) on iTunes all week (including through to midnight last night (when the sales period for today's mids would cut off), and even on iTunes today (which would still be factoring in sales on iTunes from y/day).

ii. involves SFG selling a "minus" amount of copies yday.

I just cannot see how Plan B can have caught up 48% in a day.

Maybe they didn't count any of SFG's sales yesterday? :P

It's a shame they have caught onto GKS after all - I want another chart screwup a la Oasis - Some Might Say 7'' :(

Maybe Plan B's other version on iTunes is counting towards his sales, plus he's maybe racking up more CD sales and downloads from other websites?

Could be an iTunes reporting error that's causing the problem.

Obviously what's at #29 are sales of the 2-track EP, so it could be iTunes that's reporting it as sales of the B-Side. I just can't believe that nobody at the OCC has figured this out
