And if the economy goes tits up again he'll blame the previous Labour government

And so he should given the debt that he inherited from Brown

Blair inherited a strong economy from Major

I'm not defending Brown in any way, but he did inherit a lot of this country's problems from Blair. Blair was lucky to have escaped when he did.

Not surprisingly, you've ignored what I said. If the economy goes back into recession then at least part of the blame will lie with Cameron and Osborne.

How will it when growth the last quarter under BROWN was 0.1%, just 1/10th of a percentage off a double dip recession so it would be unfair to blame Cameron if a double dip recession started

The priority is sorting out the debt mountain left by Brown

There will be pain before there is gain

How do you work that one out?

All I've been hearing all evening from Brown, Campbell, etc, is what a better state this country is in than it was 13 years ago.

There was improvement in the Blair years but Brown and his retrogressive policies not only created an economic bad dream that the international crisis turned into a nightmare and made a huge contribution to the general problems in society today.

i'm not overly fussed by Cam, becoming PM. The fact that George Osbourne is our Chancellor is soul destroying. As if we could have found a worse person for the job.
BBC Sources:

Nick Clegg = Deputy Prime Minister

+ 4 other LibDem Ministers in the Coalition Cabinet.

Was hoping for more!

That really does worry me. It's hard to find anyone who thinks that Osborne will be any good as Chancellor.

actually 1/10th would be zero growth, which isn't a double-dip recession. Get your facts right.

The only thing that makes George Osborne look even half-way sound of mind is when you see Oliver Letwin standing next to him. If ever there was a living example of the chinless-wonder-missing-link ... its Ollie!

He's a Tory so he doesn't give a stuff about facts.

Oh yes, I forgot.

A what point in the last 13 years did someone in the Conservative party realise that, contrary to what the Antichrist said, "society" does exist? And whose idea was it that this society is apparently Big?

Better late than never, Brown should have resigned Friday morning

you really have no clue posting rubbish llike that.

nonsense...

watch unemployment go up along with interest rates, mortgages will undoubtedly rise to the highest for many years...

great news. <_<

Brown had the chance last Friday to bow out with a shred of dignity, now he will always be known as the "Squatter", he should have stepped down as Labour leader Friday morning with immediate effect and let Harriet Harman manage the transition to conservative government

If they do then it will be down to the Lib Dems

During the negotiations with the Conservatives they were pressing them to bring in spending cuts faster than Cameron wanted to, Clegg wanted even faster spending cuts and it is looking like that is what is going to happen so if there is economic problems as a result then Clegg has to shoulder huge amounts of blame

If they do then it will be down to the Lib Dems

Clearly someone's never heard of Thatcher...
