April 6, 201015 yr my all time favourite discovery from one of them being Vaporous by Elsiane - stunning song, one of my favourites/most played songs of the last few years in fact  I got sent Mend (To Fix, To Repair) on mine the same year and I loved it too, one of quite a few albums I bought as a direct result of the competition. I think the main thing is to just make a playlist that you would genuinely listen to. There's no point in putting a b-side on for the sake of being obscure if there's a good reason it was only ever a throwaway b-side in the first place. Edited April 6, 201015 yr by Dandy*
April 6, 201015 yr Well, for me, half the fun was not knowing whether I would like the CD I received or not - I got one from Hitstastic that was not to my taste at all but it was still just as fun to listen to in a way (sorry Hits but you know I was the last person that was suited to it :D - where as I'd have loved your Fused one, I got one full of pop/rap stuff if you remember). Fused was brilliant. The only CD Swap compilation I was so impressed with that I burnt it to cd. The other two albums I did were based on a Now! That's What I Call Music format just having all different types of songs (even if Jukebox and HET30 - the one you received - had Mark Medlock tracklisted!!! ). April 6, 201015 yr This is a great idea. ^_^ I'm up for it if there's any room left... seems quite popular. :heehee:
April 6, 201015 yr I'd be interested. I already know a few songs that I love which I think are a bit more unknown. And if I include any big artists, I'd try and go for album tracks instead of the massive singles.
April 6, 201015 yr What did it say? Something about me actually replying to someone I'd never spoken to before. This thread clearly put me in my comfort zone. :D
April 6, 201015 yr Oh! I thought you were being sarcastic and had noticed that I only normally replied to you, Ashford, Medicated or Hits etc. :D
April 6, 201015 yr I echo what others have said - nearly all of the CD's I received through the CHC ones largely didn't appeal to me whatsoever but I discovered at least 3 great songs on each which made it worthwhile - my all time favourite discovery from one of them being Vaporous by Elsiane - stunning song, one of my favourites/most played songs of the last few years in fact  You got mine last time I believe and it wasn't particularly to your tastes... I'm trying to remember which tracks you actually liked, a Palladium one I believe? I'd love to take part ^_^ Will make a better selection this time, my last ChC one introduced me to some wonderful stuff that I might sneak on this time :D
April 6, 201015 yr This sounds like a great idea! :o I'd love to be a part of it, although if there are already too many people etc. I don't mind sitting out. Sounds really interesting though!
April 6, 201015 yr I'd be interested in this. I know I seem ~typical buzzjack~ but I think I'm good at finding new music and I'd stay away from all the obvious stuff too. :]
April 6, 201015 yr Author Goodness so many people. ;o Nah, I don't think there should be a person limit, I feel like it would defeat the purpose. I can take the work. <3 I think I'll start the opening thread tomorrow.
April 6, 201015 yr Sounds interesting! I'm no good at making covers or owt like that though. Is that necessary? :heehee:
April 6, 201015 yr There's no point in putting a b-side on for the sake of being obscure if there's a good reason it was only ever a throwaway b-side in the first place. However, if the b-sides are awesome there's no shame in putting them on. c.f my last CDSWAP playlist, which had b-sides by Geneva, Cutaways, Arctic Monkeys, The Cure and Suede.

I'd love to take part ^_^ Will make a better selection this time, my last ChC one introduced me to some wonderful stuff that I might sneak on this time :D Oh yes I remember, High 5 wasn't it? It's still on my iTunes so that's a result! I remember lots of Green Day/Linkin Park related songs on there
April 6, 201015 yr Author Sounds interesting! I'm no good at making covers or owt like that though. Is that necessary? :heehee: Nah it's optional. You could totally plagiarize someone's artwork from Deviantart and it wouldn't matter.
April 6, 201015 yr I got one from Ghosty last time. Most of it wasn't to my taste but there was one outstanding track from a band called Leaves' Eyes which led to me buying the album.
