Great album & wished they'd stuck with the original/planned run of singles =

"All The Lovers">"Get Outta My Way">"Put Your Hands Up">"Cupid Boy">"Can't Beat The Feeling"

instead of the lacklustre run we got.

I'd have really liked to see 'Put Your Hands Up' as the 3rd single as well actually. I feel like the era was basically floundering at that point anyway, but I'm sure it would have done better than BTT and made for a more vivacious X-Factor performance.
1. All the Lovers

2. Get Outta My Way

3. Illusion

4. Aphrodite

5. Looking for an Angel

6. Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)

7. Can't Beat the Feeling

8. Closer

9. Too Much

10. Better than Today

11. Cupid Boy

12. Everything Is Beautiful

Interesting rank Bal! Wouldn't usually see 'Illusion' and 'Looking for an Angel' that high up and 'Cupid Boy' second from bottom! Glad you like everything to a certain degree though, it's definitely pure Kylie and definitely benefits from having Stuart Price as the album's executive producer.

Agreed. The whole "throw your hands in the air" theme was very hot in 2010 and I think the anthemic feel of the track would have been perfect for The X Factor.

I didn't realise just how much promo 'Better Than Today' actually got: other than The X Factor, it was performed on Children in Need, Royal Variety, Jools Holland and Capital's Jingle Bell Ball! They may as well have used one of those slots to perform 'All the Lovers' tbh.

Put your hands up would have been a great 2nd single for me but i do think if it got the perofrmances that better than today got as third single it would have done much better. Aphrpdite is such a consistant album and its a shame it struggled with singles outside all the lovers as ideally the album would have had at least 2 top 10 hits and further 2 top 40 hits.
I reckon that if 'Put Your Hands Up' got released as the 3rd single & given all the promo it would have had (instead of wasting it on 'BTT'), then this could have easily been a top 20 hit, around #17-#20 region. Then 'Cupid Boy' as single #4 with a music video/promo, that could have went top 40. 'Can't Beat The Feeling' - Not quite sure about this one, I doubt this would have done any better than the previous singles or get the same attention. I'd guess this it would have been a small scale release like 'PYHU' & peak within the top 75.

I believe this would have been the outcome if the label took this route with the singles offered from the album.

Better Than Today will join the list of Kylie songs that likely will never get performed by Kylie again.
Aphrodite is another Kylie album that could be enhanced further with an eventual anniversary release.

I decided to listen to this album for the first time in a couple of years at work and I forgot how much it slaps! It really is such a summery feel-good album and one of my favourites. My ranking:

01: Get Outta My Way

02: All the Lovers

03: Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)

04: Too Much

05: Closer

06: Better than Today

07: Illusion

08: Cupid Boy

09: Everything Is Beautiful

10: Can't Beat the Feeling

11: Looking for an Angel

12: Aphrodite

The top 5 are all 10/10s - it annoys me how little Put Your Hands Up did here but I suppose the singles later on in her album campaigns don’t do so well at all, still they could have at least given it some promo or released it before/instead of Better Than Today. I was never sold on the title track and it sticks out as a clear dud, but the rest are good at least.

I often return to this when the sun is out - the sound of the album is perfect for it! Not listened to it yet although I have played some of the outtakes like Heartstrings, Mighty Rivers and Love Love Love which are all fantastic and particularly so in the sunny weather we’ve had the past couple of days.

Shock to see the title track dead last! :o

Ooh at Too Much being your favourite album track, Doug! I thought I was pretty much alone in rating Too Much that highly.
I'm not sure where I'd place it on my album rank but I really took notice of 'Too Much' a year or so ago. It's got that classic Calvin sound that he properly established with 'We Found Love' the following year. Kylie was quite ahead of the times working with Calvin, I think a collaboration between the two when he was at his peak could have been magical and that previous link would perhaps have stopped it feeling like hit-chasing.

The drop after the first verse really has an air of euphoria to it, it's SO good and reminiscent of Calvin's early work, I just love the song. I was always surprised it never got much love!
