I hope Professor Green is the first to leave the top 10 if something new comes in, that's now spent 3 weeks too many in there.

By the same token, I'm glad Pendulum aren't instantly shooting up to the upper reaches on name alone.

Brilliant, just brilliant. Love all the Trademarking going on there, a trusty ruler and iTunes pop bars, what more could a chart stat want!

Thanks :D

Yep, but it's very tight between ➍ & ➓. But, Watercolour & Candy have under-performed so far IMO.

Candy hasn't even been in the top 50 in radio airplay, so I think it's performed pretty well all things considering.

All Night Long :: Alexandra Burke is 24.8% behind ➓ Acapella :: Kelis

Is that a lot?

Thanks anyway. :D

Well, during this week, on that fixed basis, if Acapella sold 25,000, All Night Long would sell about 18,000

DEVASTATED for Sophie... deffo one of her best songs ever :(
Dunno if any Glee songs will enter this week. Xtinas Beautiful seems the biggest shot at top 40 imo.

138. Beautiful (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

Why on earth is 'Jumping Into Rivers' the highest?

i know it's a bit late but it was leaked a few months ago so assume people heard it then, liked it and are now downloading it. they put it on the website as a free download though so it is a bit confusing

It's up to #250 now. I don't think it'll trouble the top 100 though.

But leaked songs tend to do a bit better, because, in a way, it's been advertized well. Like the Bittersweet Symphony version of Ridin' Solo was leaked in late 2009, so in March, when Jason's album was released, Ridin' Solo almost got into the top 20 on iTunes. People bought it, because they already knew the song.

Also, I remember Boom Boom Pow was sold for free for a little while, but it still did tremendously on the chart. I think offering a few free downloads is a good idea, because it gets the initial sales, and then it helps sell the song through word of mouth, people hearing it out and about, etc. Basically, people are more likely to talk about the track, before its release, if they already own it. If too many people buy the song for free, I suspect they'd stop distributing it.

only heard that alex burke song there earlier and was interested to hear it because the way people go on about it here you would think it was one of the greatest songs ever produced so it was a lety down......very typical of anything else shes done or anything else in the top 40 atm!!

Agreed.

Incredibly generic.

Ah well, looks like a quiet week- should change next week with Stereo Love

Roll Deep seems to be closing in on Usher combined- so I think they will keep number 1 on sunday

I think the bank holiday has kind of increased the weekend effect as a poster has said, so things could start moving faster tomorrow- I hope at least one gets top 10, otherwise they'll be three new top 20 but none top 10 :(

see you tomorrow ^_^
