For me, Christina hit her peak with Back to Basics, so we will see where her new album takes her!

I was all about Stripped. Dirrty, Beautiful, The Voice Within, Can't Hold Us Down and Fighter were all brilliant singles and the album had some real gems on it too  I really loved her debut and all of its singles too, even though it sounds horribly dated now at least in comparison to Stripped, which only came 3 years later!

12 N 1 AGAIN Faith Evans My favourite single of hers, so summery

38 N 1 THE GAME IS WON Lucie Silvas Didn't deserve to flop so hard, I much preferred this to Breathe In

 I bought these two on single that week.

Definitely agree with you there. Koochy was abysmal, Tell Me Why wasn't. I loved 2000 because the big dance hits went to #1 or top three, the medium sized ones still made top ten and even the smaller ones (like You Put Me In Heaven With Your Touch), managed to go top 30 usually. Fast forward 10 years, and only the HUGE ones make #1/top 3, the medium sized ones go top 40 if they're lucky (a la TV Rock - In The Air - would have gone top 10 in 2000) and the smaller ones don't even dent the top 200 :(

and the HUGE ones come once every 5 months lol

I think its more to do with the fact its bubblegum pop, and people forget how it was huge in 2000. Whenever I go on youtube looking for hits in 2000, and sometimes 2001, you'll see loads of comments saying "I miss the 90s", people associate very early 2000s music with that decade, whether its dance, pop, rnb or rock.

Definitely agree with you there. 2000 still had a lot of late 90's sounds, maybe because a lot of the hits early on in the year were indeed written in the 90's. 2001 seemed to be a bit of a turning point in the way pop sounded definitely. It all got a bit more slick and mature (and less interesting as a result...).

Which is why dance tracks should get as many remixes as possible added to iTunes. Someone is bound to buy them. Look at Robyn 'With Every Heartbeat'. There must've been 16 different remixes of the track available to buy which helped it to no. 1 for its sole week. Had just the radio edit been added I doubt Robyn would've sold anywhere enough to be the no. 1 officially.

Surprised 'Stereo Love' hasn't got several remixes available to help boost its sales. Same with Fugative - whilst I'm not his biggest fan (actually, I hated his last song) but I heard 'Crush (Matt Bianco Remix)' and it actually makes the song a lot more fun and bareable to listen to.

I think Stripped is Xtina's best album, the singles were hit and miss though, I hate Beautiful, but loved Can't Hold Us Down and Fighter. I think Genie will probably still rank #1 with me - the singles from her debut were all great though, I Turn To You is a wonderful ballad. However I don't own the album :heehee:

I predict Alexandra will be #15/#16 with All Night Long this week. :)

Hopefully Overcome has climbed back into the top 40 this week.

You hate Beautiful? :o

Such an amazing song. Got completely destroyed on Glee though.

Christina's balads are a lot better than Britney's :P The Voice Within, Hurt, Beautiful and Oh Mother =

Yeah, complete dirge to me. Didnt really like Hurt either. But TVW, ITTY and Oh Mother were all great.

Can't Hold Us Down was an anthem for me at college, I bought it in town on my first day and didn't have a bag with me, just pens. So in my very first lesson it just had to sit on front of me on the table and I got known as 'the boy who likes Xtina' until everyone got to know me properly

As for her debut, Genie, What A Girl Wants, I Turn To You and Come On Over were all massive favourites of mine, as was Reflection, which I'm sure most people know, it's a Disney classic! Surprised it was never a single. Despite it sounding dated, I still rank it in my top 20 albums of all time. Stripped is top 10.

It does, but it's all in the same EP... Anyway, I guess you mean Molto Bianco? Showing your age :kink:

Hi guys

I always quite liked Lonely :kink: Whenever I here Oops It reminds of THAT perforamce form Jedward and I love it

Anyways for today, I hope Pendulum can keep top 3 and it would be great to see Fyfe in the top 10, its unlikely but I can hope

2. Missy Higgins - Scar (19)

I've recently discovered this track, partly because of the Ben Lee/Misy collab I got last year in the CDSWAP, and partly after I discovered it was in the Axis Of Awesome's 4 chord medley.

Love that too, but especially the Spanish version, I loved Mi Reflejo  Wish she'd do another Spanish album, Bionico maybe

Excellent! She was my favourite artist back in 2005, her debut album The Sound of White is well worth a listen  Scar was incredibly feel good, it flopped hard here, got to #240-something :(
