Who was saying that there would not be a Glee takeover in the charts? Christina hoepfully will go Top 10, I hope Stereo Love stalls, I just do not get what the fuss is about.

It's not a bloody takeover for God's sake.

Every Glee song is incredibly frontloaded.

I will be very surprised if Total Eclipse ends up anywhere higher than 6 or 7 on Sunday and even that's an ambitious prediction. RJR will be the only other one to go top 40.

Also, the inevitable 'OMG #1 contender? :w00t:' occurred on the previous page and it made me die a bit on the inside.

Hopefully RJR can too as well - just so Reggie has to play it :D

5 Glee songs in the Top 40, is there anyone else in that position, it is a takeover to me.Good for Glee hopefully they can keep climbing and annoy you somemore.

The success doesn't annoy me, it's people claiming it's more successful than it is that annoys me.

Bray come on, have to admit, glee has been a huge success, its massive.

Also 5 new songs in the top 40 , they all doing pretty well.

WOW up to #4!

I'm aware that it's massive.

It's just not as huge as everyone claims it is at the beginning of every week.

The early positions are deceiving due to the frontloaded nature of every Glee song except DSB.

^ Yes they do last about a week on the chart, partly due to majority of songs being on a massive selling album with no radio or TV play.

Only reason DSB stuck around so long was because it was on TV music channels and on radio a lot (also it was the debut which is normally biggest). The other songs havent really had that opportunity.

It has been incredibly successful.

...that only backs up my point? I'm not denying how successful it's been at all

And when I say frontloaded I don't only mean officially, I also mean on iTunes - take for example Hello (which had similar success to Run Joey Run so far). Shot to #18 on iTunes and only made #35 officially. And then there's Gives You Hell and IML/CPII - both made near the top 5 on iTunes and peaked at #14.

Yeah i see what you mean..what factors need to be taken in to consideration are the songs do not start climbing till monday night/tuesday so really the entries lose out on potentially 2 days of sales behind all the other entries. Also it is competing against songs which have radio/tv play.

I see where your coming from but you are saying people are claiming its more successful then it is, but really it has been incredibly successful at the end of the day.

Anyway enough of glee

Not myself tonight is probably the shock hit of the week, people werent expecting it to be at #12 today. Maybe it can go in to the top 10 on itunes.

^ climbing very well now! I think the little advert really helps on the home page.
TEOTH upto #3 now!!!! :o  Also been reduced to 49p on Amazon which should help sales

Christina is doing so well without radio and video channel support. I reckon she would have been a number 1 if radio had got behind her.

Sometimes it seems to me nowadays, that if you're not urban & black, R1 is simply not interested...

I'm trying not to get too excited as i know Glee songs can be frontloaded however i really think we could see at least 3 new entries in the Top 40 this week from them  I'm suprised at how well they have all continued to do today

I am no fan of R1 but there is no truth to that statement. There are maybe 7 or 8 songs from urban artists in the R1 playlist and that really makes a change for them. Most of the playlist remains low seling obscure Indie acts or popular American acts.

#3 :D Wooooow. If this continues, could be top 5 officially if it carries on all week that is, top 10 is a cert.
