Having now seen both the overall T200, and the download only T200 - I am struck by the fact that they are almost identical now. That wasn't the case even a couple of years ago when I last saw the full download T200.

e.g.

Main chart

198 Elbow-ODLT

199 Scissor Sisters-IDFLD

200 Shakira-HLD

Downloads

198 Scissor Sisters-IDFLD

199 Shakira-HLD

200 Elbow-ODLT

The only difference being that Elbow must have sold half-a-dozen or so CD's...

Wow. You'd think there'd be a bit less correlation lower down the chart, when the sales figues get quite small, but apparently not!

Do you know where I can go to find the Download top 200?

This week's ChartsPlus.

Sorry, I thought that would be obvious, since this thread is about it.

Of course, the only *real* difference between the overall, and download charts, is that Kylie is #3 in the former & #6 in the latter. :)

 Yes, I did know that. I meant, since I haven't suscribed to ChartsPlus, is there like a website where someone puts up the charts that you know of?

Unlikely - the OCC stamps down hard on websites who try.

That's the point of subscribing. Why would someone who pays out money for the priviledge post the info online for the benefit of someone who doesn't? ^_^

Ah. Well thanks anyway. :)

Shaky Fan: I'm not condoning this, but I in a matter of seconds you can find a website where you can watch a newly released movie, or download a new song, or download a new video game for free. I don't know what motivates people to do this, but it happens a lot.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen!

I guess that maybe the interest in the full charts is more of a niche area and those that have the info through C+ are less likely to share this for free!

Yeah, that's a good point. The majority of people only care about the number-ones, so I doubt anybody cares what's #200, apart from the few.

Been thinking about subscribing to this for ages think its about time i did so now.

Nice that they're going to include more charts - not sure I'm that the charts enough these days to get the subscription though. I don't see the point of the downloads top 200, it's not going to be massively different from the single top 200 is it, with physical sales so low.

As to this subject, you can now see a complemtary copy of the new expanded format on their website...

If that doesn't encourage you to subscribe, I don't know what will. :P

That was a fun read ;-)

Now if only they showed the physical /7" chart I would definitely subscribe ;-)

The big problem for me is that my own database has always been Top 75 and Chartplus wouldn't help at all by showing Top 200. I would still need to keep up my current database.

Huge problems I have :P

I doubt there would be many to make a chart. The Vinyl Albums chart - which we do carry - has numerous new entries and RE and odd movements - like the BEatles Abbey Road LP from 1988 entering!

I buy a lot of 7"'s weekly and it I'd love to see the weekly chart ;-)

There is still a fair few of us that go to our local record shops weekly and buy the new 7"'s that are out.

Oh well.
