July 4, 201016 yr Glad Adam has made an appearance in the top 75 - hopefully he can climb up a bit into the top 40 soon :)
July 4, 201016 yr how manys that It would mean if B.o.B sold 100,000, Katy Perry sold 170,000, I think. But the real figures are probably about half of those values.
July 4, 201016 yr I read somewhere that Airplanes sold 70% of what CG sold, or CG sold 70% more than what Airplanes did, can't remember.
July 4, 201016 yr Author According to digital spy Katy Perry outsold B.O.B by 70% With such a huge percentage for Katy I can see JLS getting stuck at #2 this week and a big YES  California Girls is a summer anthem, I do think it will stick around for another week or 2 at #1, until the physical release of Airplanes.

JLS are ahead on iTunes (and starting to build a decent lead) already + their inevitably massive physicals. They'll crush Katy.
July 4, 201016 yr #44 :( So close. I know. :( Not particularly surprised at it's underperformance though. :snif:
July 4, 201016 yr If 'Example' was not in the Top 10 then there would be no British acts this week Top 10 which would of been the first time in a while?
July 4, 201016 yr 'Chica Bomb' deserved so much more. :( I agree. I really thought it would've been top 10.
July 4, 201016 yr Albums: 61 N 1 Zero 7 Record I can't decide if this is a good result. On the one hand, I think there's been p***-all publicity about this, and Zero 7 have never been a hits machine, so to hit the top 75 with a best of compilation isn't bad. But when you consider only four years ago they were making the top 5, it's a bit of a comedown.
July 5, 201016 yr Although i would have loved Kylie to have held onto to number 2 im still delighted she held top 3, all the lovers has managed what none of the X singles did so thats good to,cant wait to see sales.

But when you consider only four years ago they were making the top 5, it's a bit of a comedown. They're a band who are perpetually in the 'you know their songs, but just don't realise it's by them' category, a bit like Air in that respect (only I know and love everything by Air).
July 5, 201016 yr If 'Example' was not in the Top 10 then there would be no British acts this week Top 10 which would of been the first time in a while? At least there's some national diversity in the top 10 - okay, the vast majority (6/10) are by American acts but of the other 4 there's one apiece for the UK, Spain, Somalia and Australia. Not bad IMO. What's slightly more worrying is that extending right down to #40, there are only 9 more British songs, almost all of them by rappers much to vidcapper's delight I'm sure: Frisky, Rescue Me, Shout, All Night Long, She Said, Turn It Up, We Dance On, Pass Out and Prayin'. Iyaz can also technically be called British as he's from the British Virgin Islands, so that's at a push 11/40 for Britain which is very, very poor. However, as we stretch down to #40 we also find a fair few other nationalities: French (David Guetta), Romanian (Edward Maya), Colombian (Shakira), Canadian (Marco Calliari, Justin Bieber), Brazilian (Aggro Santos) and Swedish (Robyn). And stretching it all the way to 100 brings up 2 more nationalities: Moldovan (Dan Balan), South African (Vusi Mahlasela) 13 different nationalities in the top 100 isn't bad. I fully agree with you about about the diversity of nationalities but just why has the chart domination got to be by US Rap/R&B rubbish which it has now for the last decade.
