Dave's chart is based on estimations without having the full information available - so I still think Katy can be #1 even if she doesn't overtake B.o.B. on iTunes.

If JLS end up #1 on Sunday, it'll be because their lead in the early part of the week was so large that they've managed to sustain the huge deficit they're currently enduring (B.o.B. 50% sales ahead of them).

Gonna stick my neck on the line and go for:-

#1 Katy

#2 B.o.B.

#3 JLS

With about 1,000-2,000 sales between the lot of them.

I agree with everything you said, including your predictions. I think that Katy should most likely get another week at #1.

The bad thing is I've actually quite liked it for a while :o it's when the beat comes in for the chorus.

Wow i'm not that bad! :P

It's really catchy though and their dancing is brilliant.

I do wanna slap JB though. He comes over so arrogant and serious in the video and interviews yet he contributes the least to the band (in my view).

BoB (Nothin On You) vs David Guetta (Gettin Over You)

BoB (Airplanes) vs JLS (The Club Is Alive)

BoB was involved in a similar chart battle (5 weeks ago) when David Guetta's "Gettin Over You" stopped "Nothin On You" from reclaiming the #1 slot in the chart announced on June 6th.

At the end of that week, there was a difference in sales of approx 1300:

  1. David Guetta & Co - Gettin Over You - 48,827
  2. BoB - Nothin On You - 47,553
.

- Guetta overtook "Nothin On You" on iTunes on Thursday, June 3rd at 00:15

At the equivalent time this week, July 8th at 01:15, JLS's lead had been reduced, but they were still narrowly ahead of "Airplanes".

- In the midweek chart announced on Thursday, June 3rd, "Nothin On You" was #1, and Guetta was #4

At the equivalent time this week (July 8th), JLS were #1, and "Airplanes" was #3

- However, in the midweek chart announced a day later on Friday, June 4th, "Nothin On You" was #1, and Guetta was #2

At the equivalent time this week (July 9th), JLS were #1, but "Airplanes" was still at #3

- On June 5th at 01:30, David Guetta was 56% ahead of "Nothin On You"

At the equivalent time this morning, July 10th at 02:00, "Airplanes" was 46% ahead of JLS.

It's impossible to predict who's gonna be #1 this week because:

  • Guetta had two other versions (one in the iTunes Top 100 for most of the week), and he had a bigger pop bars lead than Airplanes does, yet only managed to outsell "Nothin On You" by 1300.
  • JLS have a CD single and a huge fanbase, even if their CD is selling less then Kylie's 3 physical formats.
  • BoB is STILL behind Katy Perry.
  • We don't know how big an impact the other download sites are going to have in this (essentially) 3-way battle.
.

Today's sales are going to be VERY important

JB is the only one I like as I find the other 3 incredibly arrogant. I also believe he does the writing that the band do.

I don't see how JB looks smug? IMO, he kinda just sits back and does nothing ... I tell you something though...

Oritse is my favourite, he actually looks like a star in the video, and somehow manages to do it without looking cocky like Aston.

Anyway... The Club Is Alive

Really? I hate Aston

I agree with this, Oritse is the only other member who doesn't bug me. Marvin and Aston are the annoying cocky ones, totally in love with themselves.

Thanks for that. :)

The annoying thing about B.o.B/Bruno Mars vs. David Guetta/Fergie was that David Guetta went around telling everyone he was number-one before it was announced. People on the forum were very good at keeping it a secret, except some people said things like "The guy who won has gone around telling everyone that's he's #1", at which point it was obvious it was David Guetta, because B.o.B had already been number-one, and his song had been a world-wide smash, so I didn't think he'd care. I deduced that David Guetta would be really happy, because the UK was the first country in the world for the song to go number-one.

I doubt the result will be leaked on such a large scale this time though.

Come on Alex! :cheer: All Night Long is really sticking it out, it's already spent more weeks in the top 40 than Hallelujah did and if she can get another 2 weeks with ANL it would have outlasted the 11 weeks Broken Heels had in the top 40

Now my head hurts, that seems too technical for me

What could be crucial... when did "Gettin' Over You" enter the top 10? It had to start on Sunday from nowhere whereas people are forgetting that "Airplanes" had almost a day on Sunday ahead of "The Club Is Alive". I think what will decide it in the end is how close JLS got to Kylie's physicals total.

Thats good to know lets hope it beats BH in terms of sales.Hey Soul Sister and She Said have had long chart runs too was not expecting that. Not a fan of B.O.B but hope he can pull off No 1, his music is not to my tastes but Airplanes is well written and the lyrics are good.

katy as gone up abit on itunes like hasn't she ohh sunday is going to be good chart wise aslong as jls dont get it then am happy as i like katy and b.o.b song :)

Before this weeks chart is published, 'All Night Long' and 'Broken Heels' have both had 10 weeks in the top 40. BH most definitely won't get more than 10 weeks while ANL is looking at an 11th week tomorrow while probably having another one afterwards.

Tomorrow's chart is going to be really fun if JLS don't get to number one. The sadist in me wants the JLS fans to suffer (no offence Sweet Dreams ).
