I was thinking that. :( I think 'Gravity' should've peaked higher as well, it's my favourite from her. -_-

Loved Gravity. Strange how the album did better when the lower single charted

‘I Am Who I Am’ / 'Secret Love' is the brand new double A-side single from Lee Ryan, the first release from his latest album of confessional, autobiographical pop magic and marks the beginning of his new relationship with Geffen Records.

‘I Am Who I Am’, written by London indie five piece Ben’s Brother, is an opulent, yet defiant ballad which sees Lee assert his right to be himself; finally finding peace in his own skin. An anthem of empowerment, the song was originally scheduled as the second single from Ryan’s new album ‘Confessions’, only to be brought forward as a double A-side with ‘Secret Love’ after fans demanded its early release. Lee says ’I Am Who I Am’ is my favourite track on the album. The response to the song has been fantastic and we all made the decision that because of this, the song should definitely be the first single. The track’s lyrics also fit exactly where I am currently in my life so it just feels the right time to put this record out."

‘Secret Love’, co-written by Ryan, together with pop supremo Johnny Douglas (George Michael, Kylie, Estelle) is a stellar dance smash. Peppered with electronic strobes, the up-tempo track is inspired by a fear of relationship breakdown and sets the tone for Ryan's new found transparency. Lee adds 'Secret Love' is about a relationship you can see going wrong and you are scared that the person will become a secret love, a person you adore but who you can no longer make a life with.” This is indeed therapy to a pulsating beat.

For some Lee Ryan, the former member of Blue with the honeyed vocal chords, may have seemed to have lost his way; another boy band casualty, fallen from grace at the hands of the unforgiving pop industry. In truth, Ryan has spent the last two years prolifically writing new material with a host of the world's best pop producers. Equipped with honest lyrics, vibrant production and those sweet harmonies, Lee’s new music will finally reveal his sometimes misunderstood personality, and surprise even the most ardent pop aficionado.

‘I Am Who I Am’ and ‘Secret Love’ are the perfect examples of Lee's determination to lay his soul bare, whilst keeping his toes firmly dipped in mainstream pop music. - HMV

Yeah, it helped the album massively. It's a shame it did chart higher. -_-

This is why I want to punch every single press release writer in the face.

My parents were in St Petersburg. They said it is a beautiful city

St. Petersburg is lovely although it was still Leningrad when I was there

St Petersburg  Stunning city.

Ah thank you guys! I was actually *born* in Leningrad too, it was the last year of the city with this name or so though.

Come to us, I can be your guide. :P

This is another song I haven't listened to, it's.... ermm... average?

After a top five smash with "Acapella", (“Her most thrilling tune since Milkshake” - NME) and highly-sought after club shows at The Coronet and G-A-Y, Kelis releases "4th Of July", the next killer single from her glorious album "Flesh Tone".

Following on from Acapella’s ode to life, motherhood and the Universe, 4th Of July continues the story (“Nothing I’ll ever say or do / will be as good as loving you”). As part of Kelis’ own rebirth as an electro-hop goddess, 4th Of July is produced by DJ Ammo and mixes an R&B soulfulness, techno-dappled electro breaks with a rip-roaring wobbly bass riff.

The video sees Kelis team up with Rankin and Nicole Ehrlich to co-direct another visual masterpiece. Shot in the scorching desert outside of Los Angeles, it promises to be a “spectacular array of visual stimulation seeing Kelis play dynamically upon the 4 elements of the universe”. (Nicole Ehrlich).

To help realise her futuristic vision for Flesh Tone, (her first album in nearly four years), Kelis worked with several influential producers, including David Guetta on Acapella, will.i.am (who describes her as “a best kept secret”) Free School, Boys Noize, Burns and Benny Benassi. - HMV
