Why do I get the feeling I might just have been right about California Gurls not hanging around in the top 10 long? :kink:

Nah, it probably will stay top 10 for a while yet, but I'm very glad to see it falling out of the top 5 already. Hope it stays out, it can't really touch the top 4 and Green should stay ahead I'd expect.

A bit surprised YBC aren't #3, although LTWYL has built up a pretty substantial lead over WNSA on iTunes now I guess.

Wow for Ronson - so very close :o He'll fall away over the week, but I'm crossing my fingers for him to stay #2. Ronson is a bit of a 'new Sash!' TBH :( If BBB makes #2, that's 3 #2s and no #1 yet.

Eliza only #10, I'd really hoped she'd be at least #9  But at least she's top 10 :w00t: and a top 3 album :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

I expected Bombay Bicycle Club's new album to do well. They're doing a 'The National'. Their first album (I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose) only peaked at #46 but has still sold over 75k to date, being a pretty consistent seller, so I expected Flaws to have a much higher first week sale and début within the top 10. I doubt it can gold top 5 for Sunday though.

/\/\ /\ Y /\ is flopping :( Hopefully XXXO can somehow go top 20 to make up for it (it's shooting up iTunes now)

Shame I Blame Coco looks like missing the top 40, I thought Self Machine could have been amssive for her/them :(

Finally, yay for Recovery going back to #1 - it seems to have better longevity (or is it just because of lower sales?) than Relpase so far.

very happy and surprised to see Kelis hasn't plummeted! still a flop but at least it's hopefully gonna be 2 weeks top 40.

also nice to see JLS drop so far.

Oh yeah, whereabouts are Gettin' Over You (#19? :kink:) and Only By The Night? Thanks.
f*** OFF GAGA! LET ALICIA STAY ABOVE YOU IN THE ALBUMS CHART! PLEASE

I'll second that !!

ALicia needs to stay ahead to keep catching up with GaGa in the YTD chart. I didn't get the deluxe edition of TEoF so might have to go buy it .......... but just me won't make enough difference :(

Hopefully Alicia's re-release will boost her above GaGa! :D

Wow Mark Ronson :o :o :o

Love the track and have done for almost 2 months but I thought I was the only one - any hype surrounding the track has been completely non-existant. How exactly is it #2 in the opening mids?

cos they are 227 copies ahead of the #2 single

Ronson but be selling significant numbers of CD'd then - but that can't last...

This has also baffled me too. I've not actually even heard the song yet.

I think the top 2 albums are going to be pretty close, at the moment Kylie looks like a sure bet for #2, hopefully she increase. Don't forget Tuesday's sales are usually a bit frontloaded they tend to trail off by the end of the week, take Kylie for example I expected 100k for her last week, but it fell short to 79k. Its only the first update of the week, and its pretty normal now Tues mids will always be the dominant first day of the week for sales, when Friday approaches it goes all south

But front-loading factors only apply to first week sales, of course.

Its because its only £3 on hmv

Glad to see I'm not the only one who spotted that factor...

Of course thats a big factor.. but I'm sure its been priced pretty low for about 3 weeks now.. Them having a new single out probably would have added to it

& according to Professor Green

People... there's only 3k between me and the #1 spot... help me close the gap!

WOW if that's true - B.o.B's place isn't so secure after all :o I expect he should still do it though.

I don't think the hype around BBB has been 'nonexistant' - I see the video all the time for one.

Bombay Bicycle Club #4?! :D

I hope they can stay top 10, fantastic! Hope that Dangermouse & Sparklehorse can remain top 40 too, and Mumfords climbing again is great, I assume it's #6? Please peak!! :D I hope it doesn't end up at #7 again!

I don't know, have they changed their sale? When Black Eyed Peas climbed back into the top 40 at number 3 it was £3, when I went in yesterday it was still in the sale but at £7. Maybe it's £3 position has been replaced with JLS.

That explains the mysterious 6-22 drop of The E.N.D. I had a feeling it had been take off the (£3) sale.

Ooh, didn't notice Mumford & Sons climbing again. It's so obvious it'll be #7 AGAIN (or lower) though :(

wow :o wasn't expecting eliza to do that well tbh. was expecting top 15 at most. yay for her though, it's a great album. :D

hahaha @ jls  and it looks like it's going to fall furhter throughout the week as well. :kink:

Wow at Mark Ronson- I think he'll fall away over the week but that is still a really good start

that is really close- looks like the top 5 could've completely changed by sunday, B.o.B could miss it, although I still think he is the most likely as long as he holds out his itunes lead until thursday

and :dancing: and  at JLS' fall-hope they fall out of the top 10, that would make my week :D

It's quite weird hearing that Professor Green track everywhere cos the Beats International track it samples was the first single I ever bought, on cassette when I was 7 years old  Good to see Mark Ronson doing well, I hated his horrible faux Motown stuff but Bang Bang Bang at least does something reasonably original and fresh. I'm starting to like the Eliza Doolittle song too, pop music as a whole seems to be going down some interesting paths lately. Makes a change from that horrible period in the late 90's when it was just Steps, S Club, Vengaboys etc, yuck.
