July 20, 201015 yr WOO! It's hanging on. It's fourth week in the top 10 without R1 support. ^_^ Kinda makes you think how successful it could have been with it. I think he'll clibm a couple of places by the end of the week due to the Now 76 effect too :)
July 20, 201015 yr I think Katy will climb back to #3 because of the Now! effect. *Fingers crossed* Edited July 20, 201015 yr by Tactical
July 20, 201015 yr I think he'll clibm a couple of places by the end of the week due to the Now 76 effect too :) I hope so. It's a crime that JLS got/are higher than him. JLS are album-only on Now 76 too, aren't they?
July 20, 201015 yr Ah, so they are *this weeks* entry I've never heard of (there's always one)... :P Richard Ashcroft's new band - where have you been?
July 20, 201015 yr I hope so. It's a crime that JLS got/are higher than him. JLS are album-only on Now 76 too, aren't they? Yes :) Why is it that most second singles don't do well anymore? I Love The Way You Lie you naughty Rude Boy ... ;)
July 20, 201015 yr Thank f**k it at least made the top 40. I'd be happy with that position considering it's position on iTunes. It's definitely 2010's 'I Do Not Hook Up'. WOO! It's hanging on. It's fourth week in the top 10 without R1 support. ^_^ Kinda makes you think how successful it could have been with it. -_- Hello my friend - bear in mind that R1 is not the most popular radio in the UK. It does, however, have an impact on the charts, but Radio 2 has been playing this a lot...
July 20, 201015 yr Hello my friend - bear in mind that R1 is not the most popular radio in the UK. It does, however, have an impact on the charts, but Radio 2 has been playing this a lot... You just have to look at the current top 10 in the official charts though and the only song that is not (or was not until this week) on Radio 1 rotation is Enrique Iglesias' "I Like It". In fact, this is the case almost every single week (where all, or 80-90% of the tracks in the top 10 are on the Radio 1 playlist), therefore Radio 1 has a massive influence on the chart, irrespective of whether it is the most popular radio in the UK - because it appears for chart purposes that it is the most popular and influential by a long way.
July 20, 201015 yr Speaking of being 'mature', you don't need to make this a personal dig at me. Grow some balls FFS. :teresa: Ok, I apologize if that's how it sounded, but to say an album deserves to flop based on 2 singles and because you think 'he's a prick'? Come on.
July 20, 201015 yr Author The Mercury Music Prize list is out I have never heard of half these acts.Hope Corinne wins though. Biffy Clyro – 'Only Revolutions' Corinne Bailey Rae – 'The Sea' Dizzee Rascal – 'Tongue N' Cheek' Kit Downes Trio – 'Golden' Foals – 'Total Life Forever' I Am Kloot – 'Sky At Night' Laura Marling – 'I Speak Because I Can' Mumford And Sons – 'Sigh No More' Paul Weller – 'Wake Up The Nation' Villagers – 'Becoming A Jackal' Wild Beasts – 'Two Dancers' The XX – 'XX' Why Plan B not nominated  Anyhow Mumford & Sons will walk it, or XX At least there are better albums this year, than the horrendous winner last year from Speech LaBelle.
July 20, 201015 yr Author Nice to see Kylie hanging on and Eliza climbing in the singles chart. The Singles chart is practically boring, but I've noticed Pendulum, Diana Vickers and SFG actually climbing into the top 40, I like acts that actually climb, mind you they are new to the 40. The ever changing #1 is getting on my wick now, I just hope Travie McCoy will hang on for a few weeks when released next week While I'm here the following acts have left the top 40 chart from last week are Justin Bieber, Aggro Santos, Kelis and N-Dubz
July 20, 201015 yr Really happy with Kylie;s positions this week, i wonder is there any chance of aphrodite claiming the number 2 from Professor Green, if not 3 weeks top 3 is still great, all the lovers should definitly stay top 15 this week with it being number 12 today. Good to see Diana Vickers album climbing shame the single isnt doing aswell though, hopefully it will manage top 30 come sunday. I seem to be alone in syaing this on buzzjack but i dont like we no speak americano so id love B.o.b to be number 1 instead.

July 20, 201015 yr Ok, I apologize if that's how it sounded, but to say an album deserves to flop based on 2 singles and because you think 'he's a prick'? Come on. So it's actually a decent album, and he's just picked two songs to release from it which are two of the most aboninable pieces of music to emerge this year? Hmmmmm! Okay, if the third single happens to be miraculously decent then your point may be proven but we'll see...
July 20, 201015 yr Hello my friend - bear in mind that R1 is not the most popular radio in the UK. It does, however, have an impact on the charts, but Radio 2 has been playing this a lot... Yeah I think Radio 1 is losing influence over the charts - despite what Spiidey says. I know many songs in the top 10 have R1 support but we don't know if they would have gone top 10 without support. Enrique, Gabriella, Lemar, Alexandra etc have all had top 10 hits despite zero support from Radio 1 yet artists like Diana, Pixie and countless hip-hop acts all have R1 support yet underperform. Radio 1 are clearly trying to be indie and cool but I think that will make them far less popular than they use to be. Btw, is Capital the most popular radio station in the UK? I'm sure I've said this many times before, but not all songs are lucky enough to be everywhere and have universal support without Radio 1 like Enrique and Alexandra, or even get featured in an advert to stabilise the chart run like Alexandra. Lemar and Gabriella scraped the top 10 and dropped down the chart like bricks (not to mention their albums flopping too), so can only be classes as minor hits, and that's normally the best anyone who doesn't get playlisted can hope for even with relatively decent support outside of Radio 1, it's an essential foundation.
July 20, 201015 yr Wahey great news for diana so happy album is back in top 20 hope it stays in it! also cant wait for her third single its going to be made in los angelos :D

Hmmm well I guess so. I think it's crucial for debut artists but unnecessary for established ones.
July 20, 201015 yr Worst number 1 of the year. :puke: :puke: :puke: Awful. Seth Lakeman top 10 in the albums :o PLEASE go top 10 3OH!3! :(
