HOTSHOT

as brought to you by Bray

Magnetic Man 'I Need Air' {feat. Angela Hunte}

Magnetic Man is a collaboration between three British dubstep producers - Skream (notable for the Let's Get Ravey remix of La Roux's In For The Kill which went as high as #11 on iTunes), Benga (who had a #98 hit with the song 'Night') and Artwork. This is the début single for the trio, it has received A-List support from Radio 1 and looks likely to go at least top 20 next week. It also features lead vocals from a lady called Angela Hunte.

Opinions? Predictions? Post 'em here if you wish. :kink:

My 3rd favourite song of all time :D

Beaten to #1 by 3 separate #1's all of which went to drop underneath it the following week :nocheer: the worst was Westlife's If I Let You Go which outsold it by less than 500 copies on the week it was #1 and this was still #2 :drama:

The worst chart injustice EVER. Especially because it's Westloife

OMG that is one of my favourite dance tracks of all time :wub:

BTW just pop in to say hello. I'm still in Berlin, on holiday :D

Still love it

2000 actually had several midweek #1s that failed to top the chart, Truesteppers, Louise, Samantha Mumba...

Oh Hai Ben :P Hope you are having a good time!

Oh yes, I just had 6 messages on a certain "Romeo". I never got so many at home. I should move to Berlin :D

Agreed, it would have stopped their stupid 7 #1's run before it had even begun as well!

Problem is, Better Off Alone already had 3 weeks of sales under its belt, and I was surprised it still had the power to shift 89.5k on its fourth chart week, it was one of those rare beasts - a sales/chart position grower, well it was rare in 1999 at least :lol: I was literally so obsessed with this song, I followed it's chart run and sales for the first few weeks and still remember some of them;

Week 1: #4 (55k)

Week 2: #3 (60k)

Week 3: #2 (75k)

Week 4: #2 (89.5k) - Westlife sold 90k and were 498 copies in front :drama: Westlife had a stronger midweek lead but had tailed off massively...if there were a few hours extra sales, Alice would have done it...

Week 5: #2 (80k)

I stopped following the sales from that point onwards...these are from memory of what I read on Teletext at the time...

:lol: Sounds like you should!!

Hey, I've only just joined this forum and could someone explain what this thread is because you are posting chart readings from 2009. Sorry if i sound stupid lol

I hope 30 Seconds To Mars have done enough to scrape the top 40. I'm desperate for anything slightly resembling rock to make the chart show.

Oh, and that Magnetic Man song isn't too good. I've found it quite hard to get into dubstep, bar a few Burial tracks.

Its a thread about todays chart. The 2009 positions are retro.

Week 5: #2 (80k)

Oh for sure. One rule at the time was that dance songs always climbed from their midweek position, due to the weekend effect. Sales apply too.

Can I get a mod to lock the hate chart please.

I'm doing it for a couple weeks as Cian is not here.

Done.
