Waka Waka up to #29! :o It's been around for ages!

And Take It Off up to #34. If it keeps climbing fast it could be top 40 this week. It's doing a lot better than Your Love is My Drug was so far. Your Love is My Drug took a few weeks to chart after its airplay began, but I suppose it didn't have a video at that point.

Really annoyed that "Alors on danse" has fallen again. i thought it would easily pass all those songs above that have been around for ages eg. Hey soul sister, ...

Hope it goes top 40 in the official chart and this gives it a push. Otherwise 41 could really be it's peak

Yay at Roll Deep

Although I LOVE the top 3 atm

I'm pretty certain 41 won't be it's peak, although it might chart lower this week. Most people in the country still won't have heard the track yet, so it'd bound to climb some more when/if they do (it's B-Listed now!).

Yay for Ke$ha! Eminem is currently No.1 in midweeks but I think Roll Deep will beat him to the top spot by sunday if they keep the no.1 spot on itunes. Don't mind who wins! Gonna listen to Radio 1 tonight, the new Ting Tings song is premiering at 9-9:30! :w00t:

Eminem is the midweek #1 only because iTunes data is missing from the midweek charts this week!

LOL @ Iron Maiden's 'El Dorado' at No. 921 - it's been a free download on their website for months!

The Black Eyed Peas put Boom Boom Pow up on the Internet for free download too, and that became one of the best-selling songs in the world last year. It's weird how that happens though. You'd think everybody would be rushing to get the song.

I'm guessing when Boom Boom Pow was obtainable for free, nobody knew the song existed yet.

Ke$ha also did the same with 'TiK ToK'! There's definitely a reason to offer free downloads, but I always find giving away lead singles very odd!

I wish Eminem and Rihanna could have got their #1! Maybe if they promoted it...

oh I just know Chase and Status are going to stall at 11 :snif:

Rufus Wainwright- Hallelujah at 980? now that was a long time ago

I couldn't help but having a look at your message history, and these are 4 of your 5 most recent messages on Buzzjack :

Do you have any other interest in music else than The Saturdays' chart run on Itunes ?

Maybe The Saturdays official board would be more for your liking then ... ^_^

Oh, LOL! Just LOL...

It's no different to you going into The Sats forum and constantly saying that you don't like them/their singles etc... Hypocrite much?

I think free downloads can be really useful to promote a song. Free downloads make it very likely that at least someone will have the song in the first place. These people that get the song for free, are in a way, promoting it, as their friends are likely to hear the song from them.

It can help or hinder. The US is such a massive market that it can pay off greatly over there, but it's almost always different story in the UK.

Yeah. I suspect Ke$ha, the Black Eyed Peas, and most of the others that have used this strategy would've had primarily the US in mind. But whenever I hear about the free downloads, it's always like 6 months after they've been stopped.

I think sometimes with huge acts they give singles away for free as a way of hyping up the album. I mean an Iron Maiden is always gonna sell huge amounts, so in many ways giving the lead single away for free just helps spread word about the album. They're not exactly a singles band anyway!
