The charts have an almost 2000 like quality about them at times this year :o

Apart from the fact that we have so many climbers to #1 and only 4 new entries a week at times. Other than that I can see what you mean, very quick turnaround at the top and a fair bit of manufactured pop about.

On a separate note r.e. Yolanda Be Cool and Edward Maya hanging around for ages - both are, somewhat surprisingly, getting hammered on Heart FM, the UK's biggest commerical radio network. This is surely leading thousands of 'would never usually hear these songs' listeners to download the songs, and helping their success. Heart are so bland and MOR, they barely ever play any dance, so I have no idea why they've picked up these two - I approve though!

Hopefully Yolanda can get positions 6 to 10.

The U.K-based teen pop outfit the Saturdays formed in 2007 under the auspices of Polydor's Fascination Records. The five-piece girl group sports an accessible, melodic electro-pop sound tailored for pop radio, not to mention eye-catching good looks. In 2008 their debut single, "If This Is Love," hit number eight on the U.K. charts, only to be surpassed by "Up," which made it to number five, and "Issues" which reached number four. Their full-length studio album, CHASING LIGHTS, appeared in late 2008, followed soon after by a cover of the Depeche Mode synth-pop classic, "Just Can't Get Enough." With Spice Girls-inspired colour-coordinated outfits and distinct musical personalities, the Saturdays instantly captured the attention of the U.K. media, appearing on several television shows including the drama HOLLYOAKS LATER and the children's show ROSS LEE'S GHOULIES. - HMV

Of course they were right, they were on the OCC's website :P

Anyway, LOL @ #3. That's awful.

LOL at the Sats, I love Vanessa, but can't stand the other 4... the song is good, but not good enough for number one. I hope Rihanna/Eminem are number one, because that flo rida? song is terrible.
Talk about falling at the last hurdle after dominating the mids all week at #1

Wow, after all that- it doesnt even make number 2, and fails to match Forever is Over and Just Cant Get Enough :o

tbh they were acting desperate and bordering on pathetic this week- this is kind of their comeuppance for it

oh and I still think this is average -_-

Looks like they are climbers after all, so badly produced this show is!
2000 was AMAZING  Not as good as 1999, but better than now frankly.
