No comments on this week's episode then? I assume, like me, you are still repulsed turned on at the thought of John Barrowman having sex. VILE man. :puke:

You just KNOW that he broke into the scriptwriter's office and inserted those scenes himself. Like Gary says, he is actually visually attractive for someone his age, but you just know that in reality you'd spend weeks trying to wash the grease stains out.

I think the series is going a bit off kilter - 10 episodes is way too long and I think it could have been done better in 5 episodes (from what I have seen so far) without all the filler.

This way, we could have had 2 story lines for the series.

TRUTH.

Seriously, he is VILE! He's so smarmy and up his own arse that I'd imagine him to arrange an orgy where everyone has to dress up in John Barrowman costumes.

But back to the show... I'm struggling with it a bit this series, the last episode was fun enough in places thanks to Gwen who is undoubtedly the highlight (although I am quite liking the PR lady too) but the plot is just a bit thin, we're barely any further forward than we were half an hour into the opening episode.

I think I have to agree, when I saw CoE was only 5 episodes I was worried, but then it came along and was amazing! Miracle Day is 3 eps in and it feels like I'm being dragged through painfully slowly. I want to see aliens now, or at least have a name for some!

They could have done 2 sets of 5, and aired them 6 months apart. But I guess they have to cater to the US of A now.

Four eps in and there's still a lot of questions so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that it'll have a strong enough plot and not end up dragging the chain in the later eps.
I actually welcome the fact that it is not as fast-paced as most television today. It's allowing the scriptwriters to explore the concept of a world in which nobody dies in some detail rather than just concentrating on moving the plot along at breakneck pace.

I have a new issue with this series and that's the way all the new characters are 'killed' off by the end of the episode each time, I think that's the main reason it feels like the story isn't moving forward very cohesively.

After watching the last episode, it felt very slow and I don't know where the series is heading yet, they are still running around to get to the truth of the whole thing. I just hope the next episode will speed things up a bit.

I have two things to say about the latest episode:

1.

Just ugh at them "killing" off Vera. I really liked her. I'd say she was my favourite after Jack & Gwen. The fact that she isn't going to be really dead is even worse. Plus the fact she was done in by such a snivelling freak makes it even worse. (as if the situation could get any worse)

and

2.

Just lmao at Jack thinking Oswald was going to read out his speech, yeah right. Jack is some optimist....

Really though, the scene where

Vera was burning alive and oswald was lapping up all the attention really made my blood boil.

Although all things considered,

Who knows what kind of ending they'll spin on this at the end....maybe something magical will happen and some people will be restored? Or maybe there will just be mass and simultaneous death...which is the obvious, logical but not entirely satisfying conclusion. I'm not holding out for anything, but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if something outside the box happened.

Hang on, are you an episode ahead? Because that certainly didn't just happen in the one I watched!

I was caught off guard by

Vera getting shot, and then having her burnt to nothing. Its sad because she was a good character and I was hoping for more from her

I'm wondering this too. I think Sabrewulf is watching at the American pace though.

episode 5 is the best yet easily. good ending, could have guessed it though, but was good.

i have a feeling it's going to get more exciting from here.

i welcome it being not as fast paced to allow to explore the concept in more detail, but i feel they are missing the oppotunity a bit, where as Children of Earth did fine in 5 episodes.

That was a better episode one of the best, glad its picking up a bit, but why kill a key character so early, I was getting warm to her character.

Not as warm as she was getting

That ending was so horrific! :( I've loved Vera since episode one as well, and just as she managed to join Torchwood, she gets herself killed! :( Russell T Davies has been billing that episode as the game-changer, and it definitely delivered that. Next week's looks really good too; hopefully we don't lose Esther as well though.

Dr Vera the new IANTO :(

That was a rather uncomfortable ending. I guess this is the part where Torchwood really turns and starts "exposing the dark side to humanity", as with the last series.

I still can't figure out what is behind it all - being Torchwood I assume aliens, but maybe the twist is that it isn't?!
