Suppose it was to keep on going on like that FOR THE REST OF THIS YEAR, what do we all think would be the 16 (or as much into the future as we can predict usung the release schedule) number ones for the remainder of the year?

Whilst I slightly prefer 'Teenage Dream' (imo, neither song is #1 worthy but hey ho!!! ), I'd be happy to finally see a track break this hidious chain of one week non-entities (which most have been considering how fast they've plummeted down the chart).

I'll be watching VH-1's UK #1s of the '10s (2010-2019) in 10 years time (possibly?) and I'll be thinking "i dont remember this song by Ne-Yo, and what's this Dizzee Rascal song? How did this ghastly JLS song top the chart? etc..." :D (I'm so out of touch with UK 2010 pop culture - 2009's pop culture was excellent in comparison).

There are ten songs (including Start Without You) in the top 40 which have made number one which doesn't really suggest they have all plummeted.

I agree with you a bit. I actually forgot Dirtee Disco existed. I think it's a good song, but it's been so insignificant for a #1. Not so much its chart run, but I haven't heard it on the radio for months. None of my friends have ever talked about it. Infact, I'd say Holiday from last year is more popular in terms of airplay and significance in the life of me and all my acquaintances.

How am I going to remember it by 2020?! :o It's a shame too, because there's some poorer #1s which I can't get away from. :(

Probably the most likely from the above weeks...though Alexandra will destry the chain this week anyway. :P

I'm sorry but... Cee lo Green over Robz and Gary? The Saturdays? Ke$ha? McFly over Nadine? Robyn??? Labrinth over Tinie Tempah is VERY arguable too.

Tinie Tempah is a definate #1 if I ever heard it. FAR better than his previous two.

I hate that stupid Shame track. One of the worst records this year and there's been a lot to choose from! Hope Bruno Mars or Cee-Lo can beat it but it seems unlikely.

There's so many massive 4th quarter releases whose release dates are unknown yet... JLS, Take That and more. Plus Cheryl Cole is out on the 25th so I doubt The Saturdays will beat her...

The rest its too early to say

so if you mean if the one weekers were to continue then I think this is what they'd be- although Shontelle and Alex Gaudino probably wont get there and Alex will stay for two more weeks

Tinie Tempah and Robbie and Gary are certainties, Joe could but I need to hear it first and it could be Kings Of Leon- I dont think the Wanted will either, thats a quiet week, its between B.o.B and The Saturdays for the next week- it would be hilarious if the Sats were number 2 and I hope this happens

Nadine and Diana its too early to say but I would assume they would get XF slots and their names are enough to sell as well

edit: Cheryl Cole's out the 25th isnt it? that will be an easy number 1 then- so that means a possible all new top 3 :o

Nah, B.o.B would be top 40 the previous week

In fact, I'm surprised it's made negligible impact on iTunes so far anyway... something tells me it might be pushed back.

Well it's looking like Alexandra Burke will have another week, she'll be the first in aaaaggggeeeessss! She may even get 3 weeks, as next week the only major releases are Charice, Nicki Minaj and KT Tunstall (all of which will be lucky to dent top 30 :() as well as Ke$ha, which has been avaialable album only for a while, but could go top 10. As for a bit further on in the sched, Cheryl might be able to get more than one week, maybe also Nadine Coyle, but I'd be surprised if she even has one week tbh

I personally think Cee-Lo's song is great, i'm hearing it all over the place and really wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it came up tops over Shame tbh...

The Saturdays won't make #1...but as I said IF WE WERE to have only one week number ones...and out of that release schedule, I think that they would be the most likely to get there.

Again, Ke$ha won't make number one...but there's f*** all else out that week so I think it's the most likely to get there. :P

McFly over Nadine. Of course. McFly will find it difficult to dodge the Top 10 with a pre-album release...Nadine will struggle imo, to much of a risk. :( McFly are the safe bet there. ;) (Plus, it may be an even better song than Party Girl! :P)

Robyn. There was only a couple of releases that week! It could be as good as Dancing On My Own or With Every Heartbeat though...who knows. :P (I haven't heard the track yet. :P)

Labrinth was a risky option for me...it is certainly a two horse race between him and Tinie Tempah...but i'm hearing Labrinth's track more and personally think it's the stronger song so that's why I think it'll go to #1 over Tempah...

I'm surprised too. Galaxy started playing it in July, so I would've thought it'd be much more popular by now.

Re Cee-Lo. He has a chance maybe but Robbie/Gary are everywhere on the radio/tv even now, what is going to be in three weeks time? No way. Robbie/Gary have a HUGE fanbase and the songs appeals to the unusual singles chart audience these days: 30+ aged people. It will get a boost too as there aren't many artists who appeal AND sell to this audience.

Ah, only 'if we were'... I still don't think they will be the highest climbers above the new entries. :P But maybe I'm wrong.

Re Ke$ha. Alex Gaudino has much more chance IMO. I guess he might do a 'Hot' at very least.

Re McFly. Hell a lot of people like Nadine's single. She would be top-10 with average song on the Girls Aloud fanbase alone, but the song is outstanding. McFly will go a lower top-10, maybe peaking at 5-6 again but with more stable chart-run, just like 'Party Girl'.

Re Robyn. Her high charting days are gone, there will surely be something else which is going to top here.

Well where was this Girls Aloud fanbase when Untouchable needed to go top 10?

I think people are highly overestimating Nadine, by a long shot.

Untouchable part 2 was just a quite small campaigne. But then again, every single by GA went top-10, and Untouchable got to #11, and Untoubhable was released after the high-selling album in the tricky download climate! I'm pretty sure Nadine's definitely gonna have a top-10 with pre-album single. And, as I've said, the song is excellent and high-praised.

I suspect 'Shame' will go to no. 1 in the UK, possibly drop to no. 2 (benefitting from X Factor performance) - both weeks likely to have strong sales. Third week onwards I suspect 'Shame' will suffer a quick decrease in week on week sales and tail off down the charts fairly quickly.

'Forget You', if it is released the same week, won't go to no. 1 (might be another #2 style 2010 non-no. 1 hit) and end up becoming one of the years bigger selling singles. Also 'Just The Way You Are' in case the record company make the ridiculous decision of insisting on holding the release back - that song is clearly popular now (not in 4 weeks time). Common sense suggest Bruno Mars should be released Sunday.

This is the most accurate prediction-there is more chance of a comet hitting earth than Gary/Robbie and their Brokeback Mountain lovefest not going to No 1.Ke$ha will definately not be going to No 1.If McFly could not manage Top 5 with Party Girl against weak competition they will certainly not beat Nadine to No 1 who will be hyped to the limit.Poor Robyn not sure what has happened to her but she will be lucky to go Top 30.Next week could be interesting I am backing Shontelle for No 1 but Alex may hold on.

You're hearing Labrinth more than Tinie? That's very odd. Tinie's song has been literally unavoidable for weeks (and it's not even out for a few more weeks!) while I've only heard LTSS 4 times on the radio and have never seen the video (it does have a video right?)

Tinie will beat Lab even if Lab gets an X Factor performance IMO...
