Half Rwandan and half Belgian Stromae is producer and artist behind European Billboard no.1 hit 'Alors On Danse'. The track has been a number 1 record in 11 countries.

• In Jan 2009 he created an online buzz when filming homemade "lessons in how to make a hit" ("Les Leçon De Stromae" or "Stromae's Lessons") for his Youtube channel. Lesson no. 8 "Alors On Dance" became a viral sensation and then a real hit on Europe’s radio airwaves and Youtube. - HMV

I'm so glad that 'Gold Dust' using its usual strong weekend effect didn't overtake Stromae among others. Stromae got top-25 peak instead of top-30 peak. Wow, what a difference. :lol:
Such a shame that the biggest European hit of the year doesn't even make the top 20 thanks to the xenophobic british market and lack of promo :snif:
#25. What an utter disaster of a peak. Expected, as all of the Euro hits are flopping here this year but I'm gutted :(

Hmmm it was huge, but Waka Waka is the biggest european hit of the year I think.

wooooo least missing you has climbeddd for the first time :)

OK, fair enough, but the same applies. It didn't get airplay until the awful rock mix came out, and everytime Reggie played it he announced it in a horrible (and bizarrely racist) "african voice".

Pleased that 'Missing You' isn't bombing as hard as I thought it would've.
I forget why Missing You is reclimbing. Was the series finale of 24/7 this week?

You're overdramatic, Tom. :P

I think THIS is an example when the release should be handled into only one week instead of spreading its sales throughout several weeks before a proper release.

If Stromae was released last week:

1. Radio 1 would've A-listed it because it wouldn't see that it was semi-flopping;

2. It would've got higher peak and caught much more media attention which would lead to much healthier follow-up sales.

All this song basically needed is the top-10 iTunes effect...

Help for Heroes concert I think
