Well by this time last year I had heard of ellie goulding and Marina and the diamonds being mentioned. So what are peoples predictions for who will be big in 2011?

Well they weren't very big so we got that wrong.

Ellie Goulding was reasonably big. #1 album and high selling top 5 single and such.

 

No idea who'll be big in 2011, nothing really springs to mind TBH, I think the BBC will have trouble finding enough people for their Sound of 2011 Poll :o

 

There will probably be at least one dubstep artist in there as dubstep is clearly 'the future of the British chart'

MIke Posner and Bashy-hopefully dubstep will be a short Winter thing.

Couple of predictions...

- Natalia Kills will have a big year in the UK.

- Britney will be back with a bang and be as big as ever.

- Lady Gaga will get 3 UK #1's and have the biggest selling album of the year.

Anything except more rap!

I think next year will be the year of Dubstep as it has grown alot over the year.

 

Will be interesting to see how B.E.P and Gaga perform next year with new material and also with no X Factor, the October to December period will certainly be interesting as will how all the contestants past and present perform without having the show to boost their sales.

 

I still hold out hope maybe next year indie/rock may finally make a comeback but i wont hold my breath lol.

If you want to see who might be popular in the UK in 2011, just look at the US Billboard Chart in early December - any acts you don't recognise, you probably will by next summer. :funky:

Maybe Far East Movement will wait until early 2011 until they release in the UK? (a la Owl City)

 

They can't just not release 'Like A G6' after how massive it's been Stateside.

I'm hoping Britney and Leona hit it big. It's been a while since Brit has burnt up the UK charts, so hopefully next year she will be on form. I also hope Leona's album runs really smoothly next year too. Obviously, Gaga & Beyonce will be big too. I don't know much about new artists, but I'm really hoping Kelly rowland actually does something too. The start of the new era so far has been really messy :(

 

P.S: Maybe some US artists? I follow US charts more than the UK charts nowadays as it is more interesting (well sometimes) so I don't know which US artists have yet to break through in the uk O-o

I hope that rock and indie and classical avant garde and rave and electro and singer song writer all do well. Instead of this endless rap/pop $h!t.

Mike Posner is another one i think to watch out for possibly, I think Cooler Than Me will either be a big Top 3 hit or do a Tik Tok and stay in the top then for months, his follow up is quite similar as well
