Well Bruno Mars sold circa ~60k last week. If we assume his sales are fairly steady... given the fact he has comfortably outsold Joe in the first 48 hours of the chart week by about 25% (very rough guess, cba to work it out properly), so if things stay as they are now, then we can quite fairly conclude that Joe is definitely not going to sell more than 50k of Ambitions this week. ;)

Olly Murs sold 93,239 in his first week.

If Joe sells less than this with an X-Factor performance - he's finished

Forever & A Day by Kelly Rowland is such a great song, love it, got a summer vibe to it though so may have been bigger in summer! :music:

Well I hate to say it, but for his music style and his target fanbase, when he came out of the closet it was the beginning of the end of him. Maybe a new music direction is needed. Will Young got stronger after he came out, probably because his music was good.

Maybe this might be true, there were even a few teen girls on DS saying that there was no way Joe was gay and that is a disgusting dig at him.I am surprised Simon did not teach him a thing or to about staying deep inside the closet while still "loving" the ladies. Will Young though is a good singer, songwriter and entertainer not sure if Joe is in his league or could be.

Joe said in an interview that his current single "is" a change of direction to how the album was going (slower stuff).

Joe's physicals may be good though.

I can imagine him having mass granny appeal, those who typically would buy a physical over downloading off itunes.

He is also at G.A.Y on Wednesday evening signing copies of the single which will be sold from the venue and will count towards the chart - Just this one apperance could boost his physical sales by 1,000 or so.

Joe's sexuality is so irrelevant, the moment he won pretty much everyone doubted what kind of artist he could become, and the material isnt up to scratch and most knew he wasnt artist material in todays music industry. I'm sure west end will suit him well, which is great.
Poor Joe people are already deciding his fate, even before sales info and album sales.

A lot of people also predicted leon jacksons flop - and that actually happened.

It's not about giving him a chance, it's about the likelihood of him being a success.....which doesn't look too rosey.

Personally they don't compare. Will Young seemed like a genuine discovery on Pop Idol - his vocals are unmistakeable. Sadly Joe's single could've been by Gareth Gates, Declan Donnelly (solo single!!! ) or the late Stephen Gateley. All male artists with that angelic tone to their voice. Will just had something very distinctive about him and he was my fave throughout the entire Pop Idol series - when he won, that was TV gold (everyone thought Gareth had walked it despite, imo, being not a patch on Will).

Then again times have changed. In the physical era, Joe might've gone to no. 1 because as weeks go by, the physical cds of older tracks decreased. With downloads, that's no longer the case although it's interesting to see how new songs seem to be tailing off down the charts so quickly yet it's not like these particular tracks aren't available to buy anymore because stocks have ran out.

You can't buy an mp3 and take it back to iTunes afterwards asking for a refund. :D

Yes, exactly what I've thought for 12 momths.

I've thought it for longer then 12 months, i thought it straight after his first audition  west end for this guy!

I hope that Joe jumps on the song Ambitions # 2 Does Joe have a chance to jump on the # 1 on iTunes?
You can't just wander into the West End because your pop career fails, he may not be good enough for musical theatre. He's about 5'1" tall, might have a bit of a problem finding suitable roles at that height. Can he act? I've no idea.

Didn't Diana Vickers also do West End or something, or am I thinking of the wrong person?

Joe is certainly very good at singing, as we all know. I don't know about his acting, but I don't think he'd have too much difficulty, since he's pretty famous, and they know including him would bring in a larger audience.

I don't think Joe would do it though.

And I don't want DJ... to go back top 10 again. :(

Duck Sauce is catching Cee-Lo combined, I think their ahead of Bruno now too

Quite odd that Party Girl is being outsold by Fix You which is five years old

Ray Quinn carved himself a nice little earner in the West End on the back of X-F and Strictly. He's a good skater but he sure as hell can't sing. He's not that tall either is he?

Kath

Shadow, it's had hardly any promotion! It's doing alright if you ask me.

13. Pixie Lott Broken Arrow.. Climb pixie, Climbb :(

God, I wish Higher would get a move on, I think it'll miss the top 20 completely at this rate

I'm pretty sure it'll go top 10 when the single version and all the remixes are released, which is still weeks away.

I think it's just doing what Airplanes and Poker Face did. Hovering around the middle of the top 40 for a few weeks before climbing. That's what popular album tracks do while they're waiting for their promotion to increase.
