October 17, 201014 yr ^ They basically said Simon was an awful mentor and gave them gimmicky songs with only 4 notes... And that they really didn't want to sing the song but they were made to do it. To be fair to Simon ... I think four notes was three more than they could cope with. However I do think that Simon is totally disinterested in his own category anyway. You can see he's only interested in Cheryl's group. Kath

You can see he's only interested in Cheryl's group. Kath Haha, yes so true. I actually know Josef in real life (the one who sang about 10% of their songs!). Bless him, I don't think he's got a great voice at all but I do think Craig has a really good voice. But they deserved to go over Belle Amie. Simon obviously puts all his effort into One Direction; and fair enough as we all know they're the ones from his category who were always going to go the farthest, and I'm sure he'll end up signing them regardless.
October 17, 201014 yr I'm shocked that Diva Fever could actually sing well in the end (better than say, Diana Vickers, who was totally incoherent tonight). I think Simon wanted to make them his Jedward, and it really didn't work. They DID have an awful song choice last night. Anyway, Matt, Mary, Rebecca and TreyC got through so I'm happy.
October 17, 201014 yr There really isn't much talent this year but at least they are better than the guest performers. Diana's voice is so effected she may as well be singing in a foreign language & Katy Perry can't sing full stop.
October 18, 201014 yr Thank god the judges made the right decision for once, I really thought Dannii would save Diva Fever though as she always wanted to be their faghag almost. She's always the best judging it on real talent though. Belle Amie's performance of 'Big Girls Don't Cry' was probably their best so far as well. I adore them.

I'm sure Cheryl will put that right when she sings 'note perfect' on her guest performer slot! :heehee: Kath Edited October 18, 201014 yr by Kathyp

October 18, 201014 yr Interesting. Glad to see Matt is up there, although wish the vile Cher wasn't top :puke2: And Aiden was awful on Saturday, but not as bad as Katy Perry yesterday :kink: Anyway, one of next week's performances will be revealed - Wagner will be singing Relax - could it be 80's week?
October 18, 201014 yr So basically I was right. Like I was in a record shop at the weekend and I saw a genre called Hoxton Fallout  Took me about five minutes to realise it was electroclash
October 18, 201014 yr Why do they bother with themes when they're so bloody loose? You could interpret it as anything ... so why not just let them sing anything. Do the makers think it makes the show more interesting? Kath
October 18, 201014 yr Possibly. They always do it in Idol, but it tends to mean something there. Anyway, I hope that given the theme Matt does a Jimmy Sommerville song :w00t:

Do the makers think it makes the show more interesting? Kath Of course the themes are not going to be as specific as thy have previously been. They know that this year has such weak vocalists that they dare not have challenging themes that many of them would fail at.I assume much of this is being done to assist Cher and ensure she avoids having to actually sing during Big Band, Rock or Disco weeks.
October 18, 201014 yr I prefer the lack of themes tbh. Most of the acts will stick to one type of music genre when releasing music after the show, so I don't see the point in making them sing Rock, Disco etc..
October 18, 201014 yr I had a feeling Diva Fever would be in the bottom 3, along with Storm and someone else (didn't really decide). I would have saved Belle Amie as well, they seem to be improving and they have potential. I'm glad John stayed in, his performance on Saturday was beautiful I thought, didn't find it boring, I actually found it rather captivating. Glad Aiden got another chance, I like him but he is so nervous, I hope it doesn't affect his next performance. I have my fingers crossed for him. Loved Cher's part in Telephone :D
October 18, 201014 yr LOL I like One Direction, but in this video at around 2:08 Simon talks about how JLS were a good example of how you put a group together without some old guy doing it Isn't that exactly what Louis and Simon did with One Direction ? Slightly contradicts himself aEzCWu0Y3kY
October 18, 201014 yr I'm obsessed with Cher's 'Hard Knock Life' performance. I can't stop listening to it! I also thought the performance of 'Telephone', although badly mimed was excellent.
October 18, 201014 yr I loved Cher at the beggining of the series. Her audition and Bootcamp performances  But ever since then.. It's gone downhill for me. I want her to have a killer performance like her audition again and then maybe I will start to like her again I hate how they keep making out as if she comes up with these ideas. Jay Z came up with the idea to sample Annie.. not Cher They did the same thing at bootcamp saying she wrote her own lyrics, but it was infact a Swizz Beats song that she combined with Coldplay
