The uproar over last night on facebook has been fabulous, I hope Katie does it again next week now, HA

I don't get this whole uproar at all. It's ridiculous.

People get so annoyed whatever happens!

Katie's better than the majority of the other contestants, it's just a shame the public are too retarded to see that.

Well she's got a better voice than Wagner and maybe One Direction - and as that makes six ... I suppose you're right.

I'm loving it that Katie and Wagner are still in.

Abit of random question but when is the charity single out? i heared it's out 22nd so a week today and there singing it on sunday anyone have any info on it?
Take no noticed of what i just asked it is out 22nd you can pre order it off hmv and amazon :D
i saw that but i thought dannii was moaning to cheryl about louis cos he went on about the song choice just before and then that's what konnie meant by so much hostility but then when cheryl tried to back connie up it made it look like it was konnie she was mad at. though looking back at it she starts moaning before she could have even taken in what louis said. awkward!

Watch the clip really carefully. As Louis starts spouting his usual jargon, Dannii softly says to Cheryl "I took my eye off the ball?" then says "unbelieveable" in reference to Konnie. Personally, I think Konnie was attempting to ask a relevant question - just phreased it terribly. Konnie should've said "the public might've thought you'd took your eye off the ball". Instead Konnie slipped up by saying "you took your eye off the ball" as if it was her opinion rather than the publics. :kink:

I think what Konnie meant was that "The public took their eye off the ball and didn't vote because they thought he was safe". Which I personally don't really believe people do very much. I don't think it was a reference to Dannii at all.

I guess I saw a different show last night...

Take That were great?? Did anyone notice the spotlight Robbie had? It all seemed so 5 drunk guys at a wedding. Truly appaling. For me it was Robbie Williams vs. Gary Barlow featuring some other three backingvocalists... And they weren't even there vocally. At all. Maybe it was just my TV set then, but the two Westlife blokes had clearly the greatest vocal skills that night.

JLS put on a nice performance, but were indeed vocally tragic. Especially the short one.

But you lot going on and on about Take That being the best and that it sounded better than on record? What are you on?

I'm sorry, but I find these claims truly unbelievable. Especially with the Westlifers vocals on the table.

And don't even get me started on Aiden's eviction. **rolls eyes**

I've been Take That's sternest critic of late (ask anyone on here) but their vocals last night were definitely NOT off. And as for the spotlight being on Robbie ... well he has the lead on the single ... would it have been appropriate for it to be on anyone else for the majority of the time. Sure ... Robbie does do actions and facials that are a bit over the top ... but apparently that is just the way he is. My only problem was with the song which I still think is bland and not single material. But to criticise the performance and vocals ... especially of Williams ... I think is just not valid.

The Westlife guys have nice voices ... but there is absolutely ZERO passion from any of them.

Aiden was rubbish in the sing-off (Katie wasn't much better) but it had been decided that they'd save Katie (whoever was in the bottom two) so there was nothing down for him. And if anyone says 'Well it was the public that decided to keep her in' ... I have one word. Wagner! Sauce for the goose and all of that!

Whos performing next week? Olly Murs and who else
The X Factor Finalists will be performing their charity single. Not sure who else though. I'd personally would like to say Jason Derulo, but that wouldn't happen and Dermot surely would have mentioned him

Fair enough Robbie has the lead, but if you watch it back he did had over-exposure during the performance. At one point I swear his spotlight was much brighter and prominent than the other's, but my TV set is not very nice so I might have that wrong.

And Gary Barlow seemed a bit not so excited about the whole thing. As for the others, there like three shots total?

And Robbie was surely screaming the notes out? I found his singing really atrocious, but maybe that's how he is?

On staging level, it was very poor. They were just standing there screaming out the tune and looking like they were obliged to work again with Mr. Williams.

Westlife went there, sang it with clear vocals and with a nice little staging. I do agree though there's not passion there. Well, the lead singer seems to enjoy it, but Mark Feehily did seemed a bit bored.

And JLS had clearly the best staging, you might agree?

So for me JLS put on a great show, Westlife were vocally spotless, and Take That were just... odd.

So you see, I don't understand how they came out of that as the heroes.

As for the voting results, I did predict Aiden might find himself on the bottom this week so it wasn't that shocking. The thing I can't get over though, is the judges ignoring the single principle of the show: find a performer with that certain uniqueness, that little something, that "X factor".

And what's Katie's X factor really? Managing to actually sing when she's trying to save her ass?

Aiden, on the other hand, really had that uniqueness. He was one that stood out because his performances were always a bit odd and schizo-infused. His "X factor", to me, was more worthy to keep around for another week that Katie's ability to actually sing only when with a gun to her head.

Because she's not that bad (I love it when she sings Etta James) but is her lazyness that I feel unworthy of on air time.

And the judges' jobs is to keep the right one in, which, to me, was not what happened.

Simon made it clear he wanted her in at any cost, for publicity reasons. It was very transparent.

It's not a fix but rather a publicity stunt, and losing Aiden's quirkyness over that is what really bugs me.

But of course it still is a TV show, so any of those values are pretty void.

You won't get any argument from me on who should have been given a chance last night to be saved. It should have been Aiden ... even if his sing-off was a bit bad (but he really looked like a dead man walking). If I were him ... I would have said 'look ... is there any point in this?' and just walked off. At least he'd be remembered.

Katie is crap ... but she's TV gold. And it isn't for her singing, it isn't for her X-Factor, it isn't for her dancing ... its because she stirs up controversy. Or rather - you, I, everyone here on BJ and DS and loads of other forums ... are making her news-worthy when she isn't. Either that or she has some dirty hold over Simon Cowell.

I do agree on both accounts.

Aiden's elimination was bound to happen simple because he wasn't getting any notice on The Sun.

Again, it's they're ability to make such shallow decisions for great telly purposes that I find atrocious, but in the end it's not that surpring.

And I would bet my money on Paije to go next week, losing to Katie yet again.

It's really only a matter of if the producers want to stirr up controversy again or if they think Katiegate has now gone too far.

Ultimatly the public votes for their favourite act, not on who they think sang the best, which turns the show into just another Big Brother spin-off.

And it's sad that at least one judge actually does her job properly and is consistently perceived as the one most likely to get the axe.

But I digress...

This is so true.

Singing ability has SOME bearing on the results obviously but it's not everything.

The person/people who teenage girls/middle aged women/(people on forums!) fancy is a big part of it.

Partisan voting is too - especially with Irish/Welsh/Scottish (i.e. Conway Sisters, Macdonald Brothers?!) acts, and I'd argue with acts who have a strong cultural identity - e.g. Rebecca probably has a lot of Liverpool people voting for her.

And, of course, it's about likeability.

Katie Waissel won't win the X-Factor. Not because she's a bad singer or performer (it's simply not realistic to say she's in the bottom five of who's left, let alone the worst), but because many people detest her. It's bollocks when people on the show say 'don't know why she's always bottom 2'. It is obviously because of the massive negative press that people are buying in to. How can they not state this obvious point?

One Direction are not the best singers on the show, but have a good chance of winning, because they have five different members, equalling a range of fanciability to voting teenage girls and their mums.

Apart from taking out (most of) the complete $h!te, the judges set up up a popularity contest/$h!tstorm with a few really-talented people amongst it.

There should be a rule for next year that if you land in the bottom 2 for a third week you are automatically eliminated.

Maybe, but as we know it isn`t always about the best sing-off - Cowell quite often votes according to who has the most potential and that was obviously Aiden.

I think they just need to scrap the judge's votes. I have no blame on Dannii, Cheryl or Louis this week as they voted fairly or for their own act. I got the impression that Cheryl saved the weasel through gritted teeth but that's just me. And as I've already said - I accept Aiden had the least votes. It's just Cowell. He is worse than any politician for manipulating the country. Do you really have to agonise over who to send home when you have a uniue singer who may be a bit patchy, but has so much more potential, than a fake, Lady Gaga/Madonna wannabe who sounds like Katie Melua on crack when she sings?

And I've not been sucked in by the hate. I haven't liked her since bootcamp. I've seen snippets of her reality tv show and she is so fake it/s unbelievable. And according to my friend - the 'parents' she has in the montages before her performance are different to those on her stupid 'show'. I have no idea if that's true as I'm unable to find footage online but I also sa a Youtube comment saying the same thing.

She screams 'PLANT' to bring as much controversy to a formula that is dying hard. She is merely Cowell's way of keeping the show in the headlines and I just find her the most hideous thing EVER. And I'm sorry but even the mini-Biebers have heaps more talent than her. The public loathe her, even if she didn't come botton THIS week she's been there four times now out of what? Six live shows. And I'm not getting eaten up about it. Aiden can probably do a lot better without the puppet master that is Simon 'I#m going to turn a gay guy into a Mika/Scissor Sisters hybrid' Cowell. That's why I hope neither Matt/Rebecca or heck even Cher win because they do have potential to have a very LONG career and they won't have that opportunity being managed by that creature. The sooner he f***s off to America, the better for British music.
