November 14, 201015 yr He said there are 8 new entries and mentioned TT, McFly, BEP, Shayne, Gyptian, Royal British Legion, MCR and Ellie, missing out the 9th new entry by P!nk That's also why the total number of 'movers' added up to 39 when Reggie announced them :P Oh, I was suddenly worried that it was chart ineligible for some strange reason... When will Radio 1 swap presenters again? :D
November 14, 201015 yr Author Just becuase other artists like her. Hardly means they are inspired by her. And what does she inspire? Her music is hardly groundgreaking. Maybe her style but thats hardly for everyone. Just for GaGa. I dont think there has been anyone in a very very long time that has changed the face of pop music. Not since the 80s. Madonna at a stretch, imo. But the truly groundbreaking artists are from the 60s and 70s.
November 14, 201015 yr Author Like that Nelly song... what's wrong with me  Nothing, I like it as well now!
November 14, 201015 yr I like this discussion, its good to try and make loons see sense. A lost cause I suspect though. What is loons?
November 14, 201015 yr He is saying those as examples of actual artists that changed pop music. A thousand others have not, GaGa included <_< (EDIT - not Cher, btw ) You gotta love a bit of 60s/70s/80s Cher. She gets lost in the list of big Female icons sadly
November 14, 201015 yr Cher is  Not X-Factor Cher though  The thing about Lady GaGa, is that she is really a new artist, she's released one-and-a-half albums. Check back in 2015 and we can maybe see if she changed pop music.

November 14, 201015 yr Author What is loons? A deluded fan of an artist who does not listen to others points about them and proclaims them as the best thing ever ;)
November 14, 201015 yr 13 P!nk - Raise Your Glass [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697817202.JPG Chart Run: 13 [1 wk] Release date: 08-11-2010 Format: CDS Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: 88697817202 Label: rca Although Pink rose to prominence as an R&B singer in the classic '90s LaFace mould, a front displayed on her debut CAN'T TAKE ME HOME, it was when she took control of her own image in 2001 that she truly became an icon. While the Linda Perry (4 Non Blondes) composed hit "Get This Party Started" strayed not all that far from her initial dance-pop path, the remainder of M!SSUNDAZTOOD revealed an artist schooled in the punk tradition. Further recordings wandered down multiple paths, cementing Pink's reputation as a genre-bending pop songstress. - HMV Video here: XjVNlG5cZyQ track listing 1. Raise Your Glass 2. November 14, 201015 yr Author You gotta love a bit of 60s/70s/80s Cher. She gets lost in the list of big Female icons sadly Yeah I guess - she is an icon for sure, but not pop music changing.
November 14, 201015 yr Madonna at a stretch, imo. But the truly groundbreaking artists are from the 60s and 70s. wow really. I think she is prob the one I always think of when I think of the greats who chnaged pop music for women with pushing and changing the boundaries.

November 14, 201015 yr Wow 2 minutes of silence, I wonder how Reggie played that record. It's *not* silence. It's 2 minutes (and 7 seconds) of atmospheric noises like tree branches blowing in the wind and cars driving past.
November 14, 201015 yr I'm quite disapointed that P!nk didn't make the top 10, I was expecting her to reach top 3 when I first heard the song! :(
November 14, 201015 yr Well number 13 is very unlucky for Pink. Hope it sticks around and goes top 10 at some stage, not impossible, the video has only just come out.
