November 19, 201015 yr In some ways I'm glad the McFly album isn't selling well as it'll mean their later singles are more likely to sell well. If they pick the right ones they could be huge.
November 19, 201015 yr I thought that honour usually goes to the artist releasing the CIN single. Not according to the TV mags - she kicks things off at 7pm. Don't know *shrugs*
November 19, 201015 yr Not according to the TV mags - she kicks things off at 7pm. Don't know *shrugs* From memory, McFly kicked the show off with their single for CIN in 2008, however they also started the show in 2006 with a cover of 'I wanna hold your hand' from the Beatles. They had nothing to do with the CIN single that year, as that was the year they kick started and did the single for Sports Relief. So Cheryl probably is starting the show as it varies.
November 19, 201015 yr Just realised that Mariahs new christmas was out. Wow its done so bad. Neither Tesco nor Asda are stocking it. May climb before Christmas though as some people won't buy a Christmas album in November!
November 19, 201015 yr I really hope Westlife drop out of the top10 by sunday. It will be their first non-top10 hit then and only the first single from their new album lol
November 19, 201015 yr Neither Tesco nor Asda are stocking it. May climb before Christmas though as some people won't buy a Christmas album in November! I bought it today. Its a good album too, better than her first one. Her voice is great, like on her older material and not like on her RnB stuff.
November 19, 201015 yr I thought that honour usually goes to the artist releasing the CIN single. Cheryl Cole is certainly not my sweetheart. I dont really like her that much and she cant sing. If it wasnt for all the promotion she gets through the x factor, she wouldnt be doing half as well.

Lil Wayne 30,246 [To Date: 145,470] 10 Alexandra Burke feat. Flo Rida 30,204 [To Date: 453,486] That's really incredible, when you think about it. There can't be many 3rd singles that topped 100,000 in a week. Let alone the fact that its sales of 100,000+ weren't a first week debut Only Girl, Forget You, California Gurls, Written in the Stars, Everybody Hurts, Replay, Shout, Promise This, etc. It climbed steadily up the chart. And I've just realized, if it weren't for X Factor, Meet Me Halfway probably would've been #1 anyway. Leona, JLS and Cheryl wouldn't have existed, so it would've just been a matter of beating N-Dubz's 50,000, which I think they would've done (did they sell 50,000 the previous week?). Infact, X Factor probably hindered its chart run. I might be wrong, but from memory, Meet Me Halfway was #3 the previous week, behind 2 X Factor songs, so it would've been #1 that week anyway, before the X Factor performance. Meet Me Halfway surely must be in the 50 best-selling 3rd singles of all time? It must be in the 50 best-selling hip hop songs too (although the song isn't 100% hip hop, but lets be honest, barely anything is). I mean, it's sold more than Where is the Love? even! :o Edited November 19, 201015 yr by Eric_Blob
November 19, 201015 yr In some ways I'm glad the McFly album isn't selling well as it'll mean their later singles are more likely to sell well. If they pick the right ones they could be huge. They are letting the Fans choose the next single . I think the album might rise at xmas but it was expected by giving the album away free and just having a standard version . Hopefully 'Shine A light' will rise due to the Children In Need Performance Is shine a light still top 10? Edited November 19, 201015 yr by itsme123
November 19, 201015 yr So, Nadine's album is no.127 today. How many sales to albums at no.127 usually get? :( Such a shame, I bought it today. It's great.
November 19, 201015 yr Author Something interesting just caught my eye, single sales are pretty good #16 (Pink) is on 20k at the moment and sales are pretty close from #8 to #17. We could see sales of 30k for a #16 track by the end of Saturday trading.
November 19, 201015 yr Author How many sales to albums at no.127 usually get? Depends on the time period of the year, at the moment single sales are very high, but currently #127 is probably looking at 1500+
November 20, 201015 yr Amazon.co.uk is selling the new Take That album for just 1 GBP on Monday- but will that those sales count for the charts? Yes, they will count towards The OCC Album Chart. Amazon.uk will be selling 'Progress' AND Susan Boyle's 'The Gift', for £1 all next Week. It is how much the Retailer pays for CD's that counts. Amazon.uk are buying the 2 CD's at the right price - to qualify for The OCC Chart. Therefore, they can sell them for whatever they like, to Customers, & they'd still count towards the Album Chart. They could sell them at 1p each, if they liked - The OCC would still add them to the Chart. Edited November 20, 201015 yr by zeus555

November 20, 201015 yr im not convinced by all this tbh....why would amazon reduce the fastest selling album of the century by that much on its second week of release? im a believer in if it sounds too good to be true...then it probably is and this falls right into that category i think It is very odd but it is true - it is now being widely publicized. Amazon are going to make a LOSS in profit on 'Progress' due to this - however the obvious aim to to generate publicity and get loads of extra people on their website in the hope they will buy other items too. Considering these sales are counting towards the chart it is not out of the question the album will pass 1M by next Sunday. People will not pass up the chance to get an Xmas present for others for only a pound. There are many that are going to be stocking up for both TT and Susan in light of this deal.
