You know what, Believe Again would make a fantastic winners' song. Obviously it wouldn't touch Delta's original but it would at least bring the song to the attention of the UK when it never had that chance first time round.

Yes!

Delta has loads of songs that would fit, lyrically and musically - Believe Again, Together We Are One, Born To Try...the latter has been rumoured more than once iirc...

People mention Delta Goodrem EVERY year!.. it's not gonna happen!

(I've Had) The Time of My Life

... To go neck to neck with the BEP's Dirty Bit.

Or, last year's rumoured track "Sway" by... Big Bunka? Something like that. That song's lovely.

They'll probably bring Light My Fire or Unchained Melody to the limelight again though... :/

Also, with the hype around the Beatles' catalogue this year, I wouldn't be surprised if they picked one of their hits... ://

You might be onto something there. Assuming Matt was to win The X Factor 2010, Simon Cowell might end up choosing 'The Time Of My Life' - the American Idol winners song that David Cook recorded.

Then again, Simon Cowell has turned One Direction into a pop/rock type of boyband so even they could do this song.

It's definitely not a song for Rebecca, Cher or Mary.

or Wagner

I think Simon may have gave a hint on xtra factor, he said after what happened last year ie rage against the machine that they have to up the anti this yea regarding the winners single. From that i would hope an original song.

As much as it would kill me, Believe Again would indeed make a truly brilliant winners track.

It really really really really really deserves to be brought to light. Such a bloody incredible and beautiful track

or Wagner

I'll have you know Wagner could sing the telephone directory and it'd sound incredible. :P

(but yes, that too :D )

Bic Runga - Sway ... i love that song

i've heard rumour of green day - Good Riddance (time of your life)

I'd like something original thought or totally different from big ballad

Miley Cyrus - When I Look at You Would be brilliant, can't believe how this flopped in the UK.

I doubt they'd pick a Delta track or Miley again?

I'm thinking it'll be an original. There seems to be no confirmation yet?

Oh god, I think I'd die a little inside. Still, the lyrics aren't quite a fit and I don't think they could convincingly turn such a simple song into a big X Factor brainbasher ballad the way they did with "Hallelujah".

Brilliant news! :D It'll be interesting to see what each of them do though; but the only downside would be you can't compare the two performances/songs in the final (although you can't when everyone does their own song each week, so it's only right!)
That's so much better but... is it 5 new songs or 5 cover versions.

Dunno, covers I'd imagine. I think Matt may want an original, perhaps he'll write one? As he's the favourtie, I'm sure Simon would let him.

Fab news, I'm soo excited about everyone picking their own song, Matt won't have to suffer Joe McElderry type ignonimity...

I'd quite like these to be the winner's songs:

One Direction: Torn by Natalie Imbruglia

Cher Lloyd: The World's Greatest by R Kelly or I Believe by Yolande Adams

Rebecca Ferguson: Try by Nelly Futardo

Matt Cardle: either Many of Horror by Biffy Clyro or a 'rocky' version of Wuthering Heights or a strange song similair to that

what would you choose if you had the choice??

You must be psychic because that will be Matt`s winner` single and great choice it is too.
