It takes more than just a decent song, some artists could release career best singles and wouldn't have a hope of scoring a hit. I agree this is the first good song Nicole has put out solo (very good infact), but she has also had everything going for her this time around in terms of her profile, the backing and support it's had etc.

I'm dying to see pop bars now. How big Nicole's lead is now?

'Poison' is good, and I'm glad she's going pure pop, but it lacks something, not that I can tell why.

These are the pop bars I have... though some of them are a bit off with the positions. I can never get them to go together, not sure what the secret is :wacko: Is it something to do with connection?

Ellie Goulding song has been on every channel! with your song alot more publicity than Poison if you ask me, Nicole has worked her ass off performing everyday? So i dont thnk you can say that Ellie Deserves it over Nicole tbh. Ellie's not promoting her single which she should be doing.

Ellie receives a major boost whenever the M&S advert gets played, most of the time during the X Factor ad breaks, she's got higher airplay than Nicole and until this week she was 59p for about 2 weeks on iTunes. Nicole has worked her ass off for this song to do well, and I for one am really pleased to see it paying off for her.

THIS. Nicole's song is one of the best pop songs of the year, whilst Ellie's is a nice but ultimately bland cover which is only selling because it's well known anyway.

I do love Ellie, but she doesn't deserve her first #01 with her weakest single to date.

Couldn't agree more, i just said that ellie does get more promotion than nicole atm even the fact the ms advert is on alot proves that, and your song is a massive well known song.

I reckon it will go Top 15 this week, and climb into the top 10 next week, unless there are many major releases. Also OG(ITW) could fall out by then, so it's 50/50

its soo annoying that the killers release a cracking xmas song every year and yet it can never climb the charts because radio 1 never support it!! if they supported it it could go top 40 and become a future classic!! dont shoot me sant is the only release to go top40(got the cd in hmv in 2007)!!

 

It will be interesting to see if coldplays xmas song gets played on radio 1 when its released tomorrow - its called 'christmas lights'!!
