Gosh, the Black Eyed Peas are doing really badly with cherry-picking! :o Especially compared to N-Dubz and Ellie Goulding. Isn't there like one standout album track people want to buy or anything? :( I guess there's no big collaborations on there, but still.

 

I don't like Poison that much tbh. Jai Ho, Hotel Room Service and Candy were all much better.

She flopped enough for her first album to be shelved after 3 attempted single releases in the US.

 

I am pleased she's doing well with this though, thoroughly deserved.

 

Well this is the UK chart, so she hasn't actually flopped here.

Besides, it was Nicole that wanted to shelve the album not the label.

The label were ready to release it but she didn't think the material was strong enough and went back to PCD.

But we have the PCD forum to discuss that anyway..

Say what now? Paramore are huge at the moment one of the leading mainstream rock acts at the moment and one of the few that can actually sell albums fairly consistently and shift a few singles (the only exception/ignorance)

They sell out arena shows in minutes. They are massive. Pretty much entirely due to Hayley.

 

Bob (not b.o.b ;)) had his previous single go #1 and sell over 300,000. WHAT A FLOPSTAR.

 

You've mis-read my post. I said T.I. and Christina Aguilera are LESS popular at the moment than B.o.B and Hayley Williams were when Airplanes was released.

 

Christina also has the great advantage that she can *really* sing - no autotune for her...

Well, the important thing is that her songs sound good. Fergie and Usher can sing too, but they've been autotuned in their recent songs because it makes the songs sound better. It's really not much different to using a synthesizer, as far as I'm concerned.

I can't remember, although I think it charted top 75 officially like 2 weeks after the album was released. I think Alive might've been the highest charting BEP album track on the album's release week (apart from Boom Boom Pow)? I can't remember for sure though.
