Do they actually have a best performance? Well I guess they must have, even if every single one of them has been a turd. But I don't think I could actually sort the crap from the crap there. :(

Matt's = agree, FTEISYF or NIWS. Can't see it being BOMT as that wasn't that good. He might do both FTEISYF and NIWS in the final though if Leona is a celebrity guest (I have no idea if she will be, I've not looned on her DS thread for ages now).

Cher - agree

Rebecca - Would almost certainly be MYFML - if they went with anything else I'd be astonished, particularly as they've bummed her since day one.

One Direction - No wonder you have no idea, all their performances (and I use that in the loosest sense possible) have been complete and utter turds.

Mary - One of the first two performances, probably the first one (can't remember the name of the song).

I also think that whilst their performances have been made available to download, and therefore a number of fans will have them, for a number of reasons it still makes sense:-

1. The winner's song would be full length - not a cut down 2 minute version;
2. It would be studio produced, not the live version;
3. I wonder just how many downloads of each performance have actually been sold. I wonder if even the top ones in each week would actually make the #1 spot if they had been chart eligible, and some of the top performances might not even have made the top 10. Wasn't Matt @ #130 or something, which even although it was later in the week, for all songs that chart as a result of X Factor, any song that low by the end of the week didn't peak higher than about #40 on iTunes after its initial spurt. Therefore if this is the case, given the magnitude of the winner's usual sales (400-600k unless they're a turd like Leon Jackson) there is massive scope for sales even if worst case scenario is assumed (that those who have downloaded the live version previously would not purchase the new version).
4. It gives the fans of that artist probably what they want - a full version of that artist's best song performance, in a studio environment. Oh how I would have killed for a full-length studio version of any of the songs Leona did in her year. :blush:

I somehow can't imagine a song as awesome as Turn My Swag On being the X Factor's winner's single though. It has to be a pop ballad (preferably one from 30+ years ago) with lots of string instruments and a key change.

 

Also, wasn't Shayne Ward's first single a new song, not a cover. So you never know.

 

Also, how far is Turn My Swag On away from the top 10? It's benefit hugely from the top 10 effect, since that'll be by far the most promotion the song will have. I REALLY hope it doesn't stall at #11 again, like the Greg Street/Soulja Boy/Keri Hilson version did. I actually wanted to cry when it missed out. :(

 

Also, 20 of the top 100 on iTunes are tracks from compilation albums! :o

 

And despite that, I Gotta Feeling is still #91! :lol: It can't've been out of the iTunes top 100 for more than 400 hours altogether since it was released! :o
