It's a shame though, becaues Kylie releases an awful song, and it gets to #3, and then her 2 fantastic follow-up singles don't do anywhere near as well. :(

If she wore weird costumes for all of her performances I bet she'd've gotten to #1. :(

That last part makes no sense whatsoever.

I think Kylie's reached the stage now where only the lead single can do REALLY well for her and the rest released after the album are fanbase buys, no matter what they are.

Maybe. Perhaps it would be better for her to release more than one pre-album single in the future. It just sucks. The songs are very good, they're getting great promotion. I just can't understand why they're not selling. Such a shame tbh. :( I think Higher might get her another top 10 hit though.

All The Lovers tramples all over everything else she's released in years and years for me, such an effortless, classy pop song. #3 was too low for it imo.

Can anybody tell me what the sales gap was between 'Hold My Hand' at #11 and the #10 single yesterday?

Thank you!

I bet 'Aphrodite' would've sold a lot more had Kylie waited until say NOW to release it. It's sales have been very good considering the general drop-off in albums this year but I think if she had released ATL/GOMW as she has done and then launched the album off the back of TXF with a much better third single choice, she'd be reaping the benefits right now. Performing a poor third single from a six month old album, weeks before it's released physically on a massive television show is a rather bonkers stratergy.

The album would then be in a great position for the Xmas market and not languishing around at the bottom of the top 75.

Doesn't look like we're getting an update today :(
Hmm, where's the update today?

Still nothing, if we don't get anything by 2pm I don't think we're getting it today at all. :(

What a stupid thing to say!

Really? I thought ATL was good, and the two follow-up's relatively mediocre.

If she wore no costume at all, she'd be #1 for months! :naughty:

Oddly, I would hazard a guess that the activity you would be engaging in at your PC would not be *music* downloading ;) - so how would she actually accrue any sales?

ATL is by far one of the best songs Kylie has ever recorded.

As for your other comment, we can only hope :kink:

Dave Taylor will produce his weekly topic this evening, that will shed how the chart will look like.

In the meantime while you are loitering in the mid topic, have a break, put your feet up and have a kit kat

No Friday update?

I'm guessing the BEPs' lead is bigger than yesterday.

Here are the mids from digital Spy, if anyone wants their daily fix

Black Eyed Peas are still ahead of Willow Smith, and extending their lead in fact, with Ellie Goulding continuing to complete the top three.

Michael Jackson and Akon remain in the most frustrating position of all, while Alexandra Burke is still just inside the top 15.

Kylie, however, is now just two spots inside the top 30.

At least she's in the top 40 though, unlike poor old Joe McElderry. Is anyone else starting to get a bit worried?

Over on the albums chart, Take That are still ruling the roost, with Michael Bublé, Olly Murs, JLS and Rihanna continuing to complete the top five. Black Eyed Peas remain two inside the top ten, while Alexandra Burke is still two inside the top 20.

Unfortunately the above could be made up as a fake. Anyone who has 5 mins to spare could quickly type all that up, it seems so unprofessional. So take it with a pinch of salt. I could have easily wrote that, if I was so desperate. :heehee:
