Posted December 14, 201014 yr This was back in September... Even as "What If," the fourth single from his self-titled debut album, creeps up the charts, Jason Derulo is at work on a sophomore album he says could come out during the first half of 2011. "This will be a totally different album from the first one," the Miami-born, R&B/pop singer and songwriter tells Billboard.com. "I've literally been around the world and back. I've experienced a lot of ups and downs. I've grown as an artist. There's a totally huge side of my artistry that people have yet to see, so I'm so looking forward to the near future." Derulo says his new material is running a sonic gamut. "Some of it is sounding dark," he explains. "Some of is sounding party. Some of it is really, really emotional. There's a grown, a huge, huge leap of growth. I'm going to take on all aspects, man, so it's really, really exciting material. I was through-the-roof excited about the first album, but the excitement for this far exceeds the excitement for the first album." He acknowledges working with J.R. Rotem, who was the executive and primary producer of the "Jason Derulo" album, but is shying away from talking about other collaborators. "I don't want to mention people and then they don't make the cut," Derulo explains. "I'd feel bad about that, so I try not to mention anything yet." Derulo expects to finish the album in January, which means he "can put it out shortly after that." Meanwhile he's in the midst of his first-ever headlining world tour, currently in Europe and kicking off the U.S. leg in Philadelphia. He's including covers of Prince's "When Doves Cry" and Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" in the set, as well as a rock version of "In My Head" and both acoustic and full band renditions of the Top 10 hit "Ridin' Solo." "It's working everywhere," Derulo reports. "That's one of the things that has to happen; it has to happen internationally for it to be as big as I want it to be. So it's been really awesome to go to these different places and have even non-English speaking [audiences]sing ever single word back to me. And I see the shows that are on the horizon and we're booking 6,000 seaters, 8,000 seaters that are selling like crazy. It'll be huge, huge shows, so that's really cool, man."CAN'T WAIT!

April 18, 201114 yr Don't Want to go home It would be brilliant if his second single was coming home. HA! Nah but i hope he includes Coming home on his UK Album(Logical) Edited April 18, 201114 yr by lee wallace
April 18, 201114 yr I hate this man soooo much... he can't sing! Why is he so popular? He's not too bad at singing. But I love him mainly because he's has some great songs. Particularly Whatcha Say and Ridin' Solo (my 2nd favourite song of 2010). I hated In My Head though. Way too generic and boring for me. :( Even a lot of his leaked songs are great too. There's one I love loads which I can't remember the title of now. But it samples the same song that his song with Pixie Lott (which I also love) sampled, if anybody knows which I'm talking about. I love it!! :D
April 18, 201114 yr Author He's brilliant live. Seriously so good. Maybe not the best vocally, but he's a brilliant, brilliant performer (and a decent enough vocalist). I've seen him twice now and I'd go again. Definitely.

April 19, 201114 yr He's a good performer, but his vocals are awful I like him, but I've realised he's pretty much a poor man's Chris Brown. I'll still give this a listen though as I loved the first album
April 19, 201114 yr I was wondering when we'd get some new material from Derülo. Looking forward to hearing this :D
