Wow! So many climbers! :o That's really strange! I guess there's not many new releases to push the songs out, as well as some fast fallers in the chart.

Most glad about Eminem/Rihanna climbing though. I thought they'd fall out this week, but at least they're #37 of higher currently.

Also, could Matt sell less than 200,000 this week then?

Doubt it. I think he will shift around 225-240k

Good news for @matt_cardle_uk fans....he's still at No. 1 in today's midweek charts after selling another 80,000 copies so far this week!

80k already??????

I think a lot of people had problems getting hold of it last week (understocking/distribution probs) so he might have a sales surge this week (hope so)

90k in a day for Take That? What are they selling? Candies?

1st week: 518,601

2nd week: 208,220

3rd week: 176,881

4th week: 203,210

5th week: 330,252

6th week: probably 400k

7th week: they will pass 2m!

With only one single? I-N-S-A-N-E

Their sales will plummet on week 7. The week after the Christmas chart sees sales levels return to normal (read: very low)

 If they sell this week 400k, they will need 160k for 2m. In an average estimate how much does the number 1 album sells the week after christmas?

Not a fan, but it would be great to have a 2m selling album with only 7 weeks!

I suppose its not TOO quiet- Katy B is doing very well, never expected it to do that well, especially in this sales climate :o great sales for Matt and Take That :D ugh @LTWYL not p***ing off, and Jessie J climbing :(

and yes, as others have said, thanks to the mod team for all the hard work this year, Merry Christmas :D

Another fantastic week for Take That and deservedly so, and once again very happy to see Bon Jovi in the top 10. Delighted to see matt performing very strongly in his 2nd week as well in the singles chart.

They dropped from 243k to 58k at the end of 2009.

Take That will probably drop to around 40,000 when the christmas new year sales drop, either way it will hit 2 million by end of march at thevert latest i think.

Where is the flood by take that in the singles chart please?

Non-mover

Well I'm Guessing the sales would be around 80k less in this moment in time had they not performed the flood everywhere. Xfactor X2, Strictly, Royal Variety and they will perform on Xmas top of pops.

Be patient guys, as for some reason I don't think the mid update will be on time again

Yes, they promoted the single, one of the reasons why it's doing well?

Part of the reason TT are doing so well is because they prostituted themselves on all the big channels, all the big shows and radio is up their arse. Chris Moyles is almost in a threesome with Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams.

It's amazing how one group (I refuse to call them a band) can dominate one market so effectively yet remain pretty much ineffective around most of the rest of the world. Listening to the UK media you would think they are the second coming of The Beatles yet that is VERY FAR from truth even with Robbie's help, which has obviously given TT a European boost

Completely agree. It is as though there is no alternative to them. Looking at the big quarter 4 releases it is actually all a bit disappointing and they are going to end up as unwanted Christmas gifts for thousands of people as they are the obvious gift option due to the media etc. Of course they do have legions of fans too regardless of the media.

I wonder if the X factor receive a cut of the profits? The single actually didn't go down that great (as it is overblown generic rubbish) but has achieved strong sales due to it being played and performed to death as if it is 2010s saviour.

Can't blame Gary and the cling ons for capitalising on the media demand though.

What was MW on about saying it's a quiet week then? There's LOADS of climbers! Okay, so only 3 new entries (although 2 are climbers) and 1 re-entry but Willow, Far*East Movement, Katy Perry, Olly Murs, The Pogues, Tinie Tempah, McFly, Mariah Carey, Jessie J, N-Dubz, Nelly, The Wanted, Eminem and will.i.am are all climbing!

LTWYL could be back in the top 20 next week with the gift card effect, good that it looks like its top 40 run won't be interrupted :D

Old post but I think it might be talking about sales increases, and not just songs which are climbing.
