I wouldn't really count Jai Ho, as it's basically PCD with Nicole's exploding ego on the separate feature. And PCD have had some great moments apart from Jai Ho, especially on their first album.

 You're so right. I'm slightly surprised at the lack of longevity for Poison, it's a good song, but I'm quite bored of it now...

Yes, it's now back up to #16.

I'm glad it looks like Jessie J is taking off, I've really got into the song this week, and it's even better that it's a paraody of the music around now.

Is it meant to be a parody? In which case it's funny. But if it's for real it's TERRIBLE.

Are you referring to 'Do It Like A Dude'? I'm not exactly a fan of the track but from the comments I've read about Jessie J's second single (or will that be considered her first proper single and 'DILAD' is just a buzz single?) it will be much better.

Yeah, Jessie J said herself it's a paraody of the music around now. Listen to some of her other tracks and you'll see her music is nothing like 'Do It Like A Dude'.

Anyone know why Driving Home For Christmas always gets a MASSIVE boost on the day before Xmas?

Anyone know why Driving Home For Christmas always gets a MASSIVE boost on the day before Xmas?

Cos it's a song about Christmas Eve?

Do It Like A Dude  15

All I Want For Christmas  16

The Flood  17

Fairytale of NY  26

Because on Christmas Eve a lot of people drive home for Christmas...

 So simple yet so true!!!

'Lonely Sky' seems to have been removed from iTunes (hence its speedy fall), but this has appeared:

139. Lonely Sky (Tribute to Ben Hazelby, Jamie Hazelby & Chris de Burgh) - #1 Ben Hazelby, Jamie Hazelby & Chris de Burgh Tribute Band

In other news, Xmas songs are climbing rapidly now, so here's a quick top 100 update and I'll do another full top 100 update later:

#11 Coldplay

#16 Mariah Carey

#24 Kirsty MacColl & The Pogues

#35 The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl

#37 Wizzard

#40 Slade

#41 Band Aid

#43 Chris Rea

#45 Wham!

#56 Annie Lennox

#57 John Lennon, The Harlem Community Choir, Yoko Ono & The Plastic Ono Band

#65 Shakin' Stevens

#67 The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl

#70 Elton John

#72 Bruce Springsteen

#73 Bob Dylan

#74 Paul McCartney

#85 East 17

#90 Brenda Lee

#91 Gabriella Cilmi

#92 Kylie Minogue

#96 Band Aid (1984 Version)

#97 Greg Lake

#99 Dean Martin

Coldplay have predictably overtaken Tinie & Kelly - I really hope Tinie & Kelly get into the top 10, hopefully they'll get to #11 ahead of The Flood and then climb into the top 10 when Coldplay start falling on Sunday

Unrelated:

61. I Just Had Sex (feat. Akon) - The Lonely Island :D

I wonder whether this will have the same success here as it is in America? :o

Yes, it's now back up to #16.

I'm glad it looks like Jessie J is taking off, I've really got into the song this week, and it's even better that it's a paraody of the music around now.

Where did she say that? Was it in an interview or something?

I did hear her on Radio 1, saying that when she made the song, she made it to be very current. She said she looked in the charts, to see what types of music people were buying, and then made the song, with these charts hits in mind, or something like that.

But aren't parodies meant to be funny?

And gutted Tinie is down to #12. :( Perhaps it's a good thing though. If Coldplay can climb fast and replace Take That, then Take That might finally fall below Tinie without the top 10 effect, then Coldplay will fall after Christmas, no doubt, leaving Tinie to occupy position #10? Except there's Jessie J climbing fast, and Cheryl might climb too.

Edited by Eric_Blob

dont worry about tinie he will peak top 5 in a couple of weeks.

why do people dload so many xmas sonmgs on xmas eve and not before??their rise is mentsal today.wonder if it will affect their chart position or is it too late?

Some of the Xmas tracks might just edge into the official top 40 come Sunday, they are just on the edge of the top 40 iTunes chart, with people playing them over Christmas Day, they might make some impact. But they will fall quickly next week.
Why is "Oh Santa!" not doing anything? I wonder if any Mariah will see a boost tonight?

Because no one knows it exists. Her album didn't even make the top 100.

good to see all the Christmas songs are climbing, The Pogues could match last years peak and Mariah could sneak top 20, great :D

wow at the Lonely Island- I haven't heard it yet, but I loved On a Boat and Jizzed in my pants, so I hope this can get them their first hit :D
