Will Matt remain at #1 for a third week or will Rihanna edge another place to #1, sales could take a little dip. There is hardly any new releases this week apart from Martin Solveig ft. Dragonette, old music will probably return to the top 40 singles chart (the iTunes gift card effect) with climbers from Tinie Tempah/Kelly Rowland and The Wanted with Christmas tracks plummeting out of the top 40 chart.

In the albums Take That should remain at #1 for a seventh week album sales could also take a bit of a dip.

Midweeks are not guaranteed this week as MW are on Xmas Break. Sadly no mids this week. For your latest chart news visit the iTunes thread topic.

PLEASE READ THESE RULES BEFORE POSTING

[01] Any member that is caught spamming, or trying to cause an argument to get a reaction will be severely warned with a ban for 7 days from posting on the forum.

[02] This is a mid thread for every artist do not go on and on and on about a certain artist to bring the board into disrepute.

[03] Please be patient when you are asking for a request, as you might not get an answer straight away.

[04] Any member asking for information that isn't in the updates we don't have, always read the topic before you post, I do not want to see questions like Where is Britney? repeated several times on every page of the thread, once is enough, bookmark the page if you don't have time to read all of the topic. Its not that hard.

[05] Do not use BLOCK CAPITALS when posting a sentence its considered as shouting and rude.

[06] Do not use Text Talk.

[07] Do not use a light colour font when posting please its hard to read the topic, not everyone has 100% vision.

[08] Please give a mention to who posted the chart info or the site name where you seen the mid info if you are copying and posting the chart info elsewhere, it takes forever trying to re-edit all the information up for you to see.

[09] Please do not post lists, or sales info unless you are told to by myself or a chart mod, if you do have sales info that you wish to share round them off to the nearest thousand and name your source, do not post precise sales figures.

[10] Regarding chart postions when posted when you see a sum/substraction for example 22+4, 40-7, if you add/subtract both figures together it gives you the actual position for the track. Its just simple addition or substraction. Go Figure.

I think Rihanna will be the Number one album, and Matt will hold on for a 3rd week in the singles. Plan B will re-enter the top ten albums thanks to heavy discounting in the sales, the same applies for Robbie and The Wanted.

There is no Chart Mid-Update on Radio 1 this week Greg James is just tramsmitting his own show from 2 to 4pm (Weds)

Gonna be a fun week not knowing what is going on.

Although i'm sure Matt will still be #1 in singles and Take That #1 in albums..

Certainty Matt will be No 1 - question is will he sell 100k to take the single of the year ? Going to be close.
I'm hoping something can dethrone that awful x factor song. Take That probably still no1 album or Rihanna.
Only six days to do it though, Sun-Fri.

I remember Best selling album of 2004 being as close as this between Keane and Scissor Sisters.

Just spoken to brother who works in a huge HMV in Leeds - says Matt is still selling extremely well this morning.

Matt's definitely going to win tbh. I predict 150,000 for him this week, so he'll probably end up like 30,000 ahead of Eminem and Rihanna in the end. :(

If Matt sold 150k, how many copies would Eminem need? 35-40k?

LTWYL will get a boost but is it enough?

Exciting times! Should someone start a campaign for LTWYL? :P

Yeah, Eminem would need over 40,000 I think, which won't happen, even though it's up to #25 on iTunes, but I think 40,000 is what something in the top 5 usually sells.

Haha. I'm tempted to start a campaign. I think Eminem fans, Rihanna fans and X Factor haters covers pretty much everybody in the entire country.

Not even an update on site, I think Friday the update was posted between 2:30pm to 3:30pm, we might have something later, but no news articles have been posted on the main site since last Thursday.

This seems like a good week not knowing the outcome it makes the Sunday Chart Show more interesting to listen to. I'm debating to knock the SCP thread on the head for this week  :D

You should do it then! Start a Facebook campaign and inform the media about it. :D

Curious to see what happens to Martin Solveig's ''Hello'' in the UK.

It's already a smash hit in NW-Europe: Top 5 in France, Belgium (Flanders & Wallonie) and number one in the Netherlands.

I guess it will be a major hit in the UK as well, but on the other hand the huge European hitsingle from 2010, Alors en danse, was not so impressive in the UK

Well, I was kind of joking. Plus, I don't think one would work, as I think less people care about year-end #1 than they do about Christmas #1, and it's also too short notice. It'd be Sunday by the time the campaign gets going.

Yeah, legend has it that Alors on danse hasn't even sold 100,000 in the UK. :drama: How humiliating. So ashamed of my country. :(

Maybe so but sites like NME etc probably could jump the bandwagon pretty soon. Plus Eminem would need "only" 20k dl's.

lol. True. Are there 20,000 Eminem stans in the UK?

But still, I'm not most fond of Internet campaigns to effect the charts anyway.

I hate in a week like this when we have no midweeks to look forward to, but what can we do.

Matt and Take That i think will both retain their number 1 positions again this week, id love take that to sell 130,000 and make the 2 million sales by the end of the week.

How much had 'The Circus' sold after 6 weeks? (At this point in time)
