lol. True. Are there 20,000 Eminem stans in the UK?

But still, I'm not most fond of Internet campaigns to effect the charts anyway.

I`d rather a UK artist get the best selling single, so come on Matt.

^ I don't care about the nationality, just the song itself. If When We Collide was Eminem's song, and Love the Way You Lie was Matt's song, I'd still want Love the Way You Lie to win.

Plus, Alexandra Burke won in 2008, and Leona Lewis won in 2007, so it's not like it never happens.

All this talk of how close the battle for best selling song of the year is going to be has made me download Matt's song - Come on Matt :w00t:
Has the year end chart been decided? Or can it change?

I'm going to be SO gutted if Matt wins by 1 sale. I'll feel like it's all my fault. :(

Although he'll probably win by like 25,000 sales, so I'll be fine.

Cheryl Cole for shock climb to number 1 :o
Curious to see what happens to Martin Solveig's ''Hello'' in the UK.

It's already a smash hit in NW-Europe: Top 5 in France, Belgium (Flanders & Wallonie) and number one in the Netherlands.

I guess it will be a major hit in the UK as well, but on the other hand the huge European hitsingle from 2010, Alors en danse, was not so impressive in the UK

Yes I can't wait for Dragonette to have their 1st Top 75 hit in the UK, seems to be climbing iTunes today & getting airplay :-)

It doesn't seem right now that it could touch the top 75 (only around #150 on iTunes), but I so want the song to chart high

I really dont understand why so many people want Matt Cardle to be the biggest hit of the year. Its an abysmal song and yet another cover version from Cowell's team....the x factor domination is completely ruining the charts
Don`t agree it`s abysmal - in fact I think it`s a refreshing change from the usual predictable cheesy X Factor winner`s single. Slightly over-produced but he was never going to be allowed to do an accoustic version. Certainly a grower.

The x factor is ruining the charts though..if u look back at the biggest sellers over the last 5 or 6 years, the winners song is nearly always in the top5 best selling singles. All of the songs are forgetable cover versions with the same awful video's showing the winners story. The fact is NONE of these songs would do half as well if it wasnt for the x factor exposure.

Wish they had let him record one of his Seven Summers originals - at least it would have given him more credibility.

Well that would have been a lot better, instead of yet another cover. The Biffy Clyro version is miles better anyway.

He prefers Matt, and wants to buy Matt's single? Why shouldn't he get it?

My answer to this ^^^

The singles chart is quite easy to predict tbh, Matt will still be number 1 followed by Rihanna. The albums chart is more exciting imo because as sales will take a dip, anything could climb. Hopefully RiRi will climb to no. 1 in the albums  Progress is a great album, but surely it can't be at number 1 again?
remember sales will be high in the singles chart this week so if eminem and rihanna can go top 20, they could sell around 30k copies - 40-45k for a top 10 hit!!
Simon has a real chance to push x factor to a different level or maybe give the show a some credibility if he allows matt to record songs he has wrote himself, if x factor can produce a star who can write their own music the show will be gain some critical acclaim and show a true star can be born from the show, to date matt is the best candidate for this to happen. I really like matts version of many of horror (although the original is best) and i would love it to be the best selling single of the year.
