Wow Adele may overtake Bruno!! Hope she keeps her midweek number 1 position!

Best top 3 would be:

1. Rolling In The Deep

2. Coming Home (0:31 reminds me of another song but i don't know which! I think Down - Jay Sean??)

3. Grenade

Its a miracle I actually like 8 of the Top 10 and pleased we have a more UK Top 10 at the moment.Hope Adele keeps climbing it will start her sophomore campaign off well if she has a No 1 hit to boast about during the album adverts.
Just heard Britney on R1 chart update, first time I have heard on radio and it sounds great on radio, much better than on my iTunes!

Is it Knock You Down? The production of Coming Home always reminds me of Knock You Down.

this is going to sound weird but the production of coming home sounds like the yeo valley rap production

So, that's 10 songs that Coming Home sounds like now? I agree with most of the suggestions (except the Yeo Valley Rap one. although I haven't listened to it in full before).

I'm glad it's doing so well though.

'The Only Exception' by Paramore is now up to #40 because of Glee's use of it! Has Glee ever helped any of the songs they covered climb into the top 40 before?

I'm not sure, but you should see how high The Only Exception went in the US after the episode aired (I can't actually remember, but I do remember it went really high)! Glee also got the original versions of Forget You and Dog Days Are Over to go top 10 on US iTunes, if I remember correctly.

But most songs done of Glee climb the following week anyway. For example, Billionaire climbed loads last week, and Telephone re-entered the top 75.

Well, Rihanna had 4 #1s in 2010 alone.

But yeah, she must've had MASSIVE 1st week sales! :o Did she beat We R Who We R and Not Afraid's sales, because they also debuted at #1, with probably less airplay than Britney had?

I personally think that the 'Coming Home' single is BLAND and not that good. Get out of the way, plz. lmfao.

She sold 411,000 units in her first week. And it was sold exclusively to itunes. It is the highest debut sale of any female artist in American music history (previous was 325k). And the 4th highest amount of all time.

She also now holds the record with Mariah Carey for the only two artists too have two #1 debuts on the Hot 100. And to have them back to back.

Bruno Mars will overcome Adele

Bruno Mars - Grenade #1 & 39 & 80 !

Adele - Rolling In The Deep #2 & # & Physicals.

Avril Lavigne #17 (Hahahaha, at everyone who were slagging her earlier this week saying she's flopping.. i dont seem to think so now ? )

Also.. Looks like No Glee in top twenty this week !

Wow. So she probably did beat Ke$ha and Eminem then.

Btw, I find it funny who in the US they're all completely astonished when a song debuts at #1, whilst in the UK everybody just seems annoyed every time it happens. I guess it's only happened like 18 times in history in the US, whilst it happens like 18 times a year in the UK, so that probably is a small factor.

Also, I reckon Lady Gaga's next single could do it too.

411,000 isn't that impressive though. I mean, Bruno Mars sold 150,000 last week, in a country with a much, much smaller population.

Also, Marry You is in the top 50! :o

But 150,000 is very impressive for us! 70,000 is more like the average at the moment.

But Britney's sales is even more impressive for the US. I mean, it's the 4th highest first week sales of all time, apparently, whilst the 150,000 we had last week probably isn't even anywhere close to that. Infact, Matt Cardle sold more on his first week in the UK than Britney did in the US, and again, the UK is a tiny country in comparison.

Go Britney! :cheer:

I'm so happy Avril's climbing! I love What The Hell

Do you know what the top 3 are Tyler? Did 'Right Round' by Flo Rida have bigger first week sales?

411,000 isn't that impressive though. I mean, Bruno Mars sold 150,000 last week, in a country with a much, much smaller population.

I don't see how that is NOT impressive? It pretty amazing considering it was released to radio one day before it's release. All of the songs that sold more then that in a one week sales period were out with massive radio and video.

What were the songs anyway. I know Boom Boom Pow was the fastest selling digital song of all time in the US at one point (and got year-end #1 too), but I'm not sure if that was highest first week sales, or fastest to sell 1 million or what.

Oh, and I didn't mean it is NOT impressive. I mean it is not that impressive. It's the 4th highest first week sales of all-time, and the 18th song in history to debut at #1. Of course it's impressive. I was just pointing out that the US has 5 times the population of the UK, yet it's 4th highest first week sales ever is lower than one we had a few weeks ago, and not even triple what we got last week. Using population ratios, Britney's first week sales are like sales of 80,000 in the UK.

Agreed that Bruno will probably overcome Adele though Amazon has Adele at #1 so anything can happen.
