That argument makes no sense. You're saying for the 40 years that Top Of The Pops existed, none of the songs performed on there were valid hits on their own merits? People only buy music they want to buy, for whatever reason.

They were good in the show as they supported the storyline and what was happening, But they were not the type of songs I would buy.

Happy the song is doing so well ! I loved it a few months ago, but the video has made me like it so much more recently
