January 25, 201115 yr Not a brilliant start to #1s this year, Grenade is boring as hell and We R Who We R is just generic Ke$ha. Not impressed. At least the other new 2011 #1 is the best #1 since Viva La Vida though. :wub: Anyway, hopefully Chase & Status can hold #4 but for some reason I can see them dropping to #5, either way it's done way better than I expected - I thought low top 20 would be its destiny. Also great to see Martin Solveig climbing and The Vaccines top 20. The Vaccines will probably drop to around #26-ish? by the end of the week but it's not the sort of song you'd expect to still be able to go top 40, same goes for The Wombats' Jump Into The Fog (then again Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) was a shock hit so maybe it was more expected The Wombats could still get top 40 hits). Jump Into The Fog is a lot better than Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) IMO, still just sounds like the same old Wombats but the chorus doesn't have the terrible lyrical content in T(V&W). On the albums front, 69k is brilliant for 21's first day sales :o Hopefully 21 can sell at least 160k then. :D It'd be great also if she can end the week with 2 top 5 albums, it'd be the first time a living artist did that since... January 25, 201115 yr oh, Ke$ha number 1 then *sighs* :( too generic Ke$ha for me really its nice to see the Vaccines top 20 though and probably the Wombats later in the week, its nice to finally get something rock/indie-ish in the charts, and C&S number 4- looks set to be their biggest hit :D and Beady Eye not top 40 :o probably a mistake

January 25, 201115 yr Gaga had The Remix at #3 with The Fame at #4 in the same week last year. I had a feeling there was something obvious I was missing. Yes, it'd be the first time since GaGa. It is, however, the first time since MJ that both albums are *studio albums* - MJ had 4 albums in the top 5 one week and 2 were studio albums (Off The Wall and Thriller) wow 69k for an albums first 2 days in january is amazing, good start to the year for the albums chart then!!
