I prefer Champion to Price Tag, so I'd like Chipmunk to get to Number 1 this week.. and I generally prefer 1 week Number 1's. I'll probably end up hating Price Tag after a few weeks as it will probably be overplayed to death

 

 

I also prefer one week number 1s- it at least keeps it interesting, long running number 1s just get so boring, 2007 was dire- after 10 sodding weeks of Umbrella, I was just about ready to shoot myself :arrr:

 

Champion has been growing on me so I'd quite like it to get to number 1- is it any closer? I would've thought it would have overtaken by now

Although I don't like static #1s now I'd love to see one huge #1 for at least 4 weeks. This absolutely quick turnover is boring too, it needs to be diluted with long-running #1s sometimes.

'Moment 4 Life' is so dull. She has farrrr better on her album! In fact I think it's my least fave on the album! 'Fly' or 'Super Bass' for next single please!

 

Oh and on the whole number 1 thing. I like weekly turnovers, but now I just want a song to stay at number 1 for at least a full month/a lengthy period just so I know it CAN be done in the digital era. :lol: it's been too long since we had a long runner! Jessie J would be perfect for that imo. It's one of the best number 1's we've had in recent years!

Yes, hopefully! 'Moment 4 Life' s far stronger than 'Your Love' and 'Right Thru Me' imo, so I'm glad it's looking like it'll be the most successful.

I believe it is jointly credited, yes, but my post was more about Nicki getting a top 40 hit...I still think without Will.I.Am, 'Check It Out' wouldn't have been very successful. I think they used it to get her name out there before the album was out, but yes, I guess it was a proper single.

I completely agree about 'Super Bass' though, probably my favourite on the album. It's a shame it's just a bonus track though - I can't see it being released because of that.

I also kind of want POW 2011 to go top 40 just to see BJ's reaction :lol: It's another case of 'so awful it's amazing', like Giggs' Look What The Cat Dragged In last year (although that only got to #53)

Strange how both of Chipmunk's last two singles have both first charted (in the top 100 anyway) in the same week as a big hip hop collaboration that also involves Chipmunk - Flying High entered the top 100 in the same week as Game Over.

I love long-lasting number ones, but over about 4/5 weeks they start to annoy me

Umbrella's chart run was irritating, even though the song is amazing.

Prevented the White Stripes and Kate Nash from making #1 :cry:

 

Also, I hope Jessie can hold on! Hopefully the new release schedule will mean its popularity won't fall so quickly (or it could climb), whereas Chipmunk could see sales tail off towards the end of the week.

Yeah 3x is the worst song Chris Brown has ever released, it was fine when JLS ripped off Calvin Harris cos' they made a good song out of it, but Y3X is awful and has a big rip off from Calvin. Champion has too much of Chris Brown in the song, his voice gets annoying in the song, Chipmunk's verses are so average and the song is not worthy of number one.

I do prefer Jessie J but Champion is a pretty good song and Chris deserves credit.
