In the same way Britney stormed to the top spot in the UK last week?

Ugh I hope GaGa doesn't get a ridiculously long #1. Obviously I haven't actually heard it yet but everything I've heard about it so far sounds annoyingly patronising and it's as if she thinks she's created the best song ever.
I would think a fanbase buy alone would be enough to get Lady Gaga's new songs to debut at #1, although, Bad Romance didn't even debut in the top 10, and she had loads of fans back then too. I don't know really. I just can't imagine someone as big as Gaga not getting to #1. And before anybody brings up Love the Way You Lie, Born This Way is actually a single.

Does GaGa really have a bigger fanbase than Britney though?

If so, ridiculous!

I don't know actually... I mean, Britney is, like, a full-on icon, but Lady Gaga is more relevant as of now. I think Britney is definitely bigger in, say, the US, but I'm not sure about the UK.

I know, the lyrics sound ridiculous as well as if she's trying to create the next 'BE TRU 2 WHO U ARE' anthem, doesn't she know Xtina and Jessie J have them. And 'doesn't matter if you're gay, bi or straight' is probably the most cringeworthy lyric ever.

Yeah. And Gaga has no excuse really. Her other songs are full of metaphors, so I don't know why she couldn't use them in this song. It's as if she's worried people won't understand the meaning? That said, I've sometimes got the impression that she writes a song about any old thing, and then makes the metaphor afterwards.

But We R Who We R and Firework are in the charts at the moment, and they've got sort of similar meanings ("Doesn't matter who you are, be proud of yourself", "We're all different, but we're all equally special", etc.).

Argh exactly! I'm sure there are far more subtle ways of getting the point across.

But it's GaGa, people will lap it up whatever it is. :(

I never said britney would, and britney isnt on the same level as gaga but thats just my oppinion, i think born this way is gonna be massive

born this way sounds $h!t. gaga is beliving her own hype.

Yeah, I do get that impression.

I mean, I'll wait until we hear the beat of Born This Way, before dismissing it, but I've got a good idea what it'll sound like already... To be honest, if the song has a great beat, I'll be able to put everything else aside, anyway. I'm going to have to hear it hundreds of times over the next few months, so it better be good!

But, to be fair to Gaga. Being called "The next Madonna" every day, being the biggest artist in the world 2 years running, being the most talked about music artist, etc, etc. You're probably going to believe the hype.

I'm only speaking for myself here, but I find it ironic how she's so unpredictable as a person. Like, I don't know if this is true, but the other day, I read that she's set to release blood and semen-scented perfume. It made me laugh, and I was shocked (even though it might not be true). She's so unpredictable, yet her music, to me, is quite the opposite (so far).

I think the Born This Way lyrics are a bit cringe worthy tbh.

We get it, you don't mind your fans being gay :P

oh and im 13, 14 on 23rd May :D

Um, and there's these too:

Devlin feat. Labrinth - Let It Go

Dr Dre feat. Eminem - I Need A Doctor

Jessie J feat. B.o.B - Price Tag

Nelly feat. Akon & T Pain - Move That Body

Tinchy Stryder feat. Melanie Fiona - Let It Rain

Hopefully Let It Go and Move That Body can get top 40. The album versions aren't doing very well though, but post-album singles usually peak on the week of their siingle release.

I Need A Doctor is such an adorable song imo. But I don't think anybody will buy it. :( Price Tag, I don't have a clue what it'll do next week, but I'm confident it'll be big eventually, so no worries there. :)

Predictions:

Barbarellas - Body Rock - FLOP!!!!!! Will struggle to make the top 300 unfortunately :(

B.o.B. - I'll Be In The Sky - maybe the lower end of top 40? Hard to say tbh...

Enrique Iglesias - Tonight - Most probably number 1, deffo top 3 at the least though!

The Streets - Going Through Hell - not even heard it, didn't know he had a new song out at all!

Yasmin - On My Own - Top 20, around 13/14/15, but maybe top 10

Devlin ft. Labrinth - Let It Go - either low top 40 or just missing out

Dr Dre ft. Eminem & Skylar Gray - I Need A Doctor - probs not much, as it's a rush release, but you never know. As with B.o.B., it's hard to tell.

Jessie J ft. B.o.B. - Price Tag - This week it'll get around 11-14ish, but will eventually be a number 1 :)

Nelly ft. Akon & T-Pain - Move That Body - same as Devlin

Tinchy Stryder ft. Melanie Fiona - Let It Rain - Top 20, about 16ish.
